VisionTree is looking for Senior Business Intelligence Analyst with the following scope:

  • Assist business staff in the development of business requirements documents, including owning authorship of business requirements when called for.
  • Help identify and assess potential data sources, and analyze existing enterprise data warehouse structures to determine relevance to marketing reporting.
  • Participate in generating high-level solution concepts in consultation with development and quality assurance teams.
  • Write functional requirements documents, participate in document reviews with business users and development teams.
  • Create dashboard design mockups, using creative methods for visualizing results.
  • Document test strategies for report and dashboard outputs, and review test results.
  • Maintain an understanding of how the data in the enterprise data warehouse relates to important marketing business processes, events and measurements.
  • Work cooperatively with analysts and developers to ensure that business requirements guide the development life cycle.


  • At least 8 years of working experience in a variety of technical roles within information technology.
  • 5 or more years of experience in business analysis or data analysis roles in a BI environment.
  • Experience using BI tools; experience with Cognos and Qlikview highly desirable.
  • Development experience with at least one business intelligence tool such as Qlikview, Tableau, Cognos, or Microstrategy highly desired.
  • Experience authoring technical documents such as business requirements, functional requirements, business rules, KPI definitions, database design representations, data and systems flow diagrams.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse architectures and processes.
  • Understanding of the features and capabilities of one more DBMS's commonly used in data warehousing such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server.
  • Expertise developing or applying relational and dimensional data models.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Contributes to the maximization of outcomes and operational efficiency collaborating with the pertinent clinical and business support personnel to identify improvements to operational processes and procedures as appropriate. Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and FMCNA policy requirements. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Collects and interprets selected data to provide appropriate analysis used in the evaluation of overall clinic performance. Provides cost, usage and trend analyses relative to various operation metrics including supply expense, utilization trends, staffing ratios, referral patterns, ancillary expense management and JV performance. * Contributes to the efficient and effective operations of clinics by analyzing various trends relating to selected areas of operational performance, conducting additional research as needed to identify inefficiencies and potential problem areas. Escalates to pertinent management for further review and attention. * Provides analyses and reporting of operations performance indicators, verifying the accuracy of the data with the local personnel as appropriate. * Monitors performance to goals providing actionable business information such as identifying trends and issues for use by management to determine options to improve operations outcomes. * Researches performance anomalies, reporting findings to senior management for action as needed. * Conducts various analyses of targeted aspects of operations as directed by VP Operations. May evaluate impact of specific factors on operations as needed. * Develops presentations relating to operations performance (PowerPoint, spreadsheet reports) for use by management. * Performs various financial analyses to assist in management review of operations including assisting in Capital Cost Analysis, Proforma Development and financial comparative studies. * Assists with the identification of important operational metrics and factors that measure strategic and operational achievements related to revenue generation projects within FMC. Provides reports, analyses and suggested solutions regarding achievements to FMC management. * Monitors the shared database to ensure operational performance and service levels are being met in accordance with established cost and budgeting expectations. * Maintains current knowledge of software applications and tools and utilizes these to provide support and information to operations management more effectively. Develops and implements new techniques for operations analysis and solutions, developing best practice recommendations as appropriate. * Performs special projects, ad hoc analyses, and other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the VP Operations. * Supports a strong and vibrant communications process between all JV practices by providing operational reviews and participating in meetings with JV practices. Disseminates pertinent analyses and reports to physicians as directed. * Reviews and analyzes the assigned group's operating results, including monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow ensuring accuracy of data provided and identifying trends and issues. Creates monthly and quarterly review charts for Group and Regional finance management to support business strategies. * Collaborates with analysts, account staff, reimbursement directors, and operations leaders for the reporting of monthly financial results and the provision of variance analyses to the relevant management, including RVPS and GVPs. Ensures any identified issues are appropriately addressed or escalated to the pertinent stakeholder. * Develops pro-forma financial models to quantify the return on investment of proposed new clinics, expansions and relocations. Coordinates with Market Development, Regional Vice Presidents, and Managed Care to develop model assumptions. * May provide analysis, forecasting, and reporting support to Joint Venture Accounting for JVs within the assigned division group to ensure compliance with JV policies and procedures as well as JV Board of Directors requirements. * Coordinates the reporting financial and operational performance by improving existing reports and developing new reports which provide end-users targeted information in user-friendly formats. * Act as a liaison between finance and field in developing annual budget targets by geography. * Forecast financial performance against budget with leading indicators to support forecast.
