General Summary:

The Center for Clinical Data Science (CCDS) aims to transform healthcare through cutting-edge data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. We combine a translational, product-focused, early-stage culture with the world-class researchers, physicians, and data/computing resources at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women's Hospitals, as well as the broader Partners HealthCare System. The Center for Clinical Data Science provides the perfect environment to focus on using analytics to effect tangible advancements in medicine.

We are looking for a forward thinking, passionate and driven Senior Manager to coordinate activities for our external relationships and to contribute to the development of the CCDS business development strategy. S/he will have a demonstrable record of success executing business strategy and priorities, managing projects and programs, conducting quantitative and financial analysis, and ensuring success.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Operations, the Senior Manager's principal responsibility will be supporting day-to-day execution of business strategy and activities at the CCDS to support high growth, with primary responsibility for oversight of key accounts and BD activities. This highly visible position will interface considerably with executive leadership within the CCDS and across the Partners' institutions, with researchers and clinicians, and with teams from our industry partners.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary point-of-contact and lead ongoing partnerships, ideating new product development opportunities and providing input for generation of terms and statements of work, liasing with industry partners, planning meeting agenda and other document creation.

  • Lead the development of the CCDS commercial strategy, including identifying new leads and driving opportunities for development of products with potential for commercialization.

  • Generate market intelligence for product development activities by conducting competitive intelligence research and creating landscape analyses to define 'white spaces' and opportunities for commercial growth, including the monitoring of start-ups in the field of AI/ML as well as potential partners.

  • Engage potential business partners in close collaboration with Partners Business Development

  • Facilitate meetings and working sessions related to strategy and product development with external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure alignment of project goals, milestones or other deliverables are executed on-time.

  • Provide project management for various ad-hoc activities throughout the CCDS as needed.

  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events as a representative of CCDS and Partners HealthCare.

  • Advanced degree (MBA/PhD/MD or similar), ideally with formal training in science/ health sciences, business or a quanititative discipline; significant work experience can be a substitute to this requirement.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a business environment such as top-tier management consulting, corporate strategy, tech / biotech business development or an operational technology management role.

  • Experience in healthcare and exposure to the fields of data science and machine learning.

  • Demonstrable presentation and business development skills.

  • Experience with strategic planning, business planning and project management.

  • Proven track record of executing challenging analytic and problem solving projects to drive measurable business value.

  • Experience with product development activities (e.g., product specification documentation, user requirements, etc.) or software development processes (e.g., Agile) is nice-to-have

Skills, Abilities & Competencies:

  • Strong sense of urgency and proactiveness ability to manage and drive work and agenda independently, and source input from other senior executives, directors and teams as needed.

  • Excellent analytical and modeling skills, comfort with financial models is preferred.

  • Succinct written and oral communication skills.

  • Drive and willingness to learn and develop new skills in a complex technological environment.

  • Ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences.

  • Ability to effectively conduct meetings and lead and facilitate working sessions with all levels of staff, including with cross functional teams, both technical and non-technical, medical and non-medical personnel.

  • Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization.

VIEW JOBS 8/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-17T00:00 Relevant activities include, but are not limited to the following: * Coordinate and oversee clinical trials to support regulatory submissions (PMA, IDE, 510(k)), as well as post-market clinical trials and clinical preference evaluations. * Review sponsor's protocol to identify operational implications and supervise the implementation of operational plans. * Supervise, manage, direct and mentor a team of associate project managers and clinical research coordinators * Direct project management activities for team members regarding their tasks to ensure that project milestones are met. * Oversee the training of staff, monitoring consistent process application and encouraging the sharing of best practices. * Develop and implement SOPs for clinical trials and related activities. * Manage sponsor audits, and respond to audit findings. * Ensure compliance with GCP and SOPs. * Identify/resolve operational, medical monitoring & safety issues to ensure achievement of study milestones, data quality and data integrity. * Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies & procedures that aim to optimize the management of clinical trials. * Contribute to the writing and review of clinical documents such as protocols, informed consents, case report forms, monitoring plans, study reports and annual reports * Develop and manage vendor performance and quality metrics through contracts and periodic review meetings adjusting scope of services as needed * Review invoices for accuracy compared to operational plans, budgets to be performed by CRO/vendors * Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and concerns that affect CTNI and communicate changes to relevant personnel. * Assist in training the clinical sites to the protocol as required * Work with trial sites to ensure expedient patient recruitment in conjunction with Sponsor and/or CRO. * Develop and maintain professional relationships with academic and community-based physicians, clinicians and investigators to assure good clinical input to CTNI clinical trials. Skills and Competencies: * Strong project planning, leadership, negotiation and presentation skills as well as an ability to contribute creative yet practical solutions to problems. * Ability to multi-task and manage several projects in parallel, paying attention to detail. * Ability to forge cross-functional working relationships with internal teams and external project partners. * Ability to be proactive in identifying issues and hurdles that may handicap the effective implementation of the trial and resolve the issues in a timely fashion. * Superior writing skills and ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical people BA or BS required, Master's strongly preferred Minimum of 7 years of directly related experience in clinical research, with prior supervisory experience preferred Site monitoring experience helpful, as is auditor experience Must be knowledgeable about computers and data management systems and familiar with common software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and Internet communication Must have the capability of prioritizing multiple competing tasks and seek supervisory or administrative assistance when appropriate Partners Healthcare System Boston MA
