The Center for Clinical Data Science (CCDS) aims to transform healthcare through cutting-edge data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. We combine a translational, product-focused, early-stage culture with the world-class researchers, physicians, and data/computing resources at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women's Hospitals, as well as the broader Partners HealthCare System. We are looking for a forward thinking, passionate and driven Senior Manager to coordinate activities for our external relationships and to contribute to the development of the CCDS business development strategy. S/he will have a demonstrable record of success executing business strategy and priorities, managing projects and programs, conducting quantitative and financial analysis, and ensuring success.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Operations, the Senior Manager's principal responsibility will be supporting day-to-day execution of business strategy and activities at the CCDS to support high growth, with primary responsibility for oversight of key accounts and BD activities. This highly visible position will interface considerably with executive leadership within the CCDS and across the Partners' institutions, with researchers and clinicians, and with teams from our industry partners.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Be the primary point-of-contact and lead ongoing partnerships, ideating new product development opportunities and providing input for generation of terms and statements of work, liasing with industry partners, planning meeting agenda and other document creation.
Lead the development of the CCDS commercial strategy, including identifying new leads and driving opportunities for development of products with potential for commercialization.
Generate market intelligence for product development activities by conducting competitive intelligence research and creating landscape analyses to define 'white spaces' and opportunities for commercial growth, including the monitoring of start-ups in the field of AI/ML as well as potential partners.
Engage potential business partners in close collaboration with Partners Business Development
Facilitate meetings and working sessions related to strategy and product development with external stakeholders.
Collaborate with product teams to ensure alignment of project goals, milestones or other deliverables are executed on-time.
Provide project management for various ad-hoc activities throughout the CCDS as needed.
Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events as a representative of CCDS and Partners HealthCare.

Advanced degree (MBA/PhD/MD or similar), ideally with formal training in science/ health sciences, business or a quanititative discipline; significant work experience can be a substitute to this requirement.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a business environment such as top-tier management consulting, corporate strategy, tech / biotech business development or an operational technology management role.
Experience in healthcare and exposure to the fields of data science and machine learning.
Demonstrable presentation and business development skills.
Experience with strategic planning, business planning and project management.
Proven track record of executing challenging analytic and problem solving projects to drive measurable business value.
Experience with product development activities (e.g., product specification documentation, user requirements, etc.) or software development processes (e.g., Agile) is nice-to-have
Skills, Abilities & Competencies:
Strong sense of urgency and proactiveness ability to manage and drive work and agenda independently, and source input from other senior executives, directors and teams as needed.
Excellent analytical and modeling skills, comfort with financial models is preferred.
Succinct written and oral communication skills.
