Senior Business Development Manager

Spring is a website delivering valuable purchasing benefits at no charge to small businesses. Our team is a small, entrepreneurial group focused on leveling the playing field for small businesses. We believe that small businesses should be able to have access to the same resources, leverage, and expertise that larger businesses do.
The Spring Team needs a Senior Business Development Manager to help us identify, engage, and onboard Merchant partners to offer compelling deals on services and supplies to be offered on the Spring Portal. When appropriate merchants are found, the Business Development Manager will work with the new merchant to develop a compelling, "best in class" offering for our small business customers.
Ideally you will have extensive Business Development or B2B sales background to allow you to quickly relate to merchants and communicate the value of this unique access to client's small business customers.
Calling potential merchants to pitch the Spring Portal and its benefits for their SMB marketing strategies
Researching potential merchants to: identify new leads and potential new markets, learn their needs, and who makes decisions about SMB marketing
Working with the product and development teams to share merchant feedback and suggest new/enhanced product features
Assisting the portal team in conducting a smooth onboarding process for new merchants
Working with the analyst team to leverage spend data to identify potential merchants
Develop, contact, and cultivate potential merchants for offerings on the Spring portal. These offers must be compelling to SMB needs and offer "best in class" value propositions.
Assist in the ongoing development Spring Deals Category Strategy
Maintain and update the Spring Deal Tracker system regarding recruiting calls, pipelines, closed deals, etc. to enable the generation of monthly activity reports to track deals and revenue by market segment
Assist in the development of best practices when developing, pitching, and closing potential merchant partners
Proven success in business development
Proven ability to influence senior leadership both internally and externally
Demonstrated ability to build trust and foster relationships with senior management of merchants
Strong negotiating skills
Excellent business writing and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Highly proficient in Google Suite: Docs, Sheets, Pages, and MS Excel
