Job Summary
The Business Data Analyst is an individual contributor role that facilitates collaboration between OneAmerica's Data Organization and business teams. This role works closely with the business units to gain deep understanding of business processes, services, as well as system and data usage. The Business Data Analyst's primary objective is equipping business partners to identify data and articulate data requirements. The Business Data Analyst documents data requirements and monitors status of those requirements through the data delivery process.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Develop relationships with identified list of key stakeholders to build trust and gain an understanding of business needs and data required to support those needs
Organize and facilitate key stakeholder meetings to elicit business data requirements for projects that are medium to large in scope and complexity
Analyze application designs, business process, and data to provide assessment regarding viability of data supporting the design
Query, analyze, and visualize data to describe what is happening or what has happened
Comprehend functional specifications of systems including data, operations, input, output, the properties of the system, as well as how the system is being used
Develop data requests following standard format and monitor the status of those data requests through the delivery process
Able to change techniques, style, methods, and approach and assimilate various types of information (i.e. diagrams, stakeholder concerns, customer feedback, schematics, user guides, spreadsheets) to maximize the quality of service delivered and more efficiently capture and achieve goals and objectives
In the spirit of continuous improvement, challenge the status quo and challenge others to rethink current processes, structures, policies, methodologies, and assumptions

Required Education and/or Certifications
Recommended Education and/or Certifications
CDMP Fundamentals certification
IIBA certification
Agile certification
ITIL certification
Six Sigma (Yellow or Green Belt) Certification
Required Work Experience
7+ years of business data analysis or related experience
Experience in insurance and financial services preferred
Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Salary Band: 06C
This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
