What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Perform IT service management processes

  • Perform project and change management duties

  • Foster and maintain ongoing client relationships

  • Configure systems

  • Write specifications for new development and system enhancements

  • Perform and coordinate quality assurance testing

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 7 or more years of experience in developing and implementing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

  • Implementation and support experience with web-based applications, WMS, transportation management systems (TMS) and small parcel shipment systems

  • Expertise and experience in at least one of the following business disciplines: supply chain management, warehousing, transportation, or distribution

  • Knowledge of formal systems development methodologies

  • Experience following formal project management practices

  • Thorough understanding of current information technologies such as client/server, relational databases, web-based systems and object-oriented design

  • Ability to use SQL for data analysis, extraction, troubleshooting and reporting

  • Excellent planning, client support, and organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Availability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time depending on project status and business needs

Leads process improvement projects and applies six sigma and similar methodologies and analytics to accomplish measurable business process improvements. The Sr. Business Analyst formulates and recommends solutions and options that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and automation, while mentoring and traning others. Additional Details: * Distribution and/or Transportation experience required * Exposure with Excel or Access – some SQL or ETL experience is a plus * Experience collecting or providing business requirements for IT solutions * Background or experience in operations is preferred * Good organization skills with project management experience * Strong communication skills – both verbal and written Requirements * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer science, business, business process improvement, informatics, or engineering * Attained Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (or equivalent) preferred * PMP certification preferred * 5+ yrs experience in business analysis or project management * Experienced in systems development and project management preferred ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: * Analyze and solve problems * Read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated * Present information and ideas clearly and understandably to others * Interact with employees at all levels of the organization * Detailed oriented * Effectively facilitate meetings, work sessions, and training * Aptitude to learn a new business and systems * Guide, engage, and impart knowledge to others * Business planning and strategic thinking * Ryder business knowledge / practices / processes preferred * Different business analysis techniques Responsibilities * Acts as liaison between the business and IT groups during the development and implementation of new systems and enhancements to current ones * Identifies business and systems processes and procedures needs * Employs process improvement practices and techniques to analyze and recommend solutions that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and procedures * Facilitates requirements by organizing gathering sessions and other related events * Examines and evaluates business needs/requests to describe what the processes, systems, and service must do to fulfill the request * Records and updates business and functional requirements / specifications, whether for a simple report, system, or an application * Conducts feasibility and economic studies to justify the recommended automation or process improvement * Creates measures of success in assesing the effectiveness of the proposed solution * Develops test plans and scripts for user acceptance testing * Mentors and trains other Business Analysts * Assists in the development of PMO processes and procedures for all Business Analyst activities * Performs other duties as assigned Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
