Summary: The Senior Business Analyst (BA) will work in partnership with stakeholders across the enterprise to deliver business solutions that fulfill the requirements of the organization and exceed business expectations. This includes gathering and documenting business requirements using varying tools and techniques, creating test cases, performing systems analysis and testing, managing project priorities, maintaining documentation on system functionality. The Senior Business Analyst will drive the coordination of business change, training and communication with UPC internal departments including, but not limited to, Claims, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and Accounting along with external customers such as our BPO providers and third-party vendors. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for training, mentoring and delegating work to peer Business Analysts and have experience working within an Agile work environment. This position is a lead role and accountable for keeping UPC Insurance on the forefront of Business Analysis best practices within the industry. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for socialization and institutionalization of BA industry practices to guarantee quality deliverables that reflect the needs of our business partners.

Elicit and document detailed business requirements of systems necessary to administer policies in accordance with all rules, rates and guidelines as established by product management and underwriting and any other stakeholder departments across the enterprise
Articulate and validate understanding of business requirements to IT developers
Be creative in using various analysis tools and techniques to ensure the solution solves the needs of the business early and often throughout the life of the project
Create test cases of all functionality for end to end system testing
Assist with testing and document defects for resolution
Perform quality checks to ensure accurate ongoing system functionality
Document system functionality
Create training materials
Initiate Agent Bulletins and provide technical input for content
Lead the company in all business analysis practices and standards
Advocate BA practices that advance delivery of quality solutions across the enterprise
Act as a role model to peer BA's, leading with integrity, knowledge, collaboration and a willingness to help develop other BA's skills
Lead large, complex initiatives in all aspects of the requirements management discipline from requirements planning, monitoring and close out
Develop and maintain workflow documents as they pertain to all systems and procedures as defined in current and future policy systems
Possess knowledge and experience in Agile methodologies
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree desired
Business Analysis certification through the IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) or other accredited BA knowledge organization
Relevant work experience related to business and system analysis
Agile/Scrum Certification preferred
Five or more years (7+) of Business Analyst experience, preferably in software development
Five or more years (7+) of P&C experience, preferably property insurance

Environmental Demands: The duties of this position are typically performed in an office setting. There may be some minimal road and air travel involved.
This position requires minimal physical exertion. However, in order to properly perform the functions of the job, good speaking and hearing skills are required.
Skills necessary for the effective performance of this position's job functions include: decision-making and analytical abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, effective problem-solving, oral and written communication capabilities, ability to fully utilize computers and computer programs.
