Responsible for preparing the monthly package to report the site's results to headquarters and site metrics Accountable for providing support to the non-manufacturing functions.. This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes purchase price variances, G&A, distribution, environmental expenses and overall spending

  • Coordinates and record spending accruals for MRO, services and utilities.

  • Prepares the WD+5 report submitted to GPS Corporate Finance

  • Calculates conversion cost per unit as part of the monthly closing process

  • Calculates and submit financial metrics (Business Unit Contribution vs. projections and budget.)

  • Prepares and coordinates the Balance Sheet and P&L Quarterly Flux analysis

  • Coordinates and review TM1 for actual monthly and quarterly reporting, budget and projections

  • Responsible for the coordination and development of budget allocations and spending reviews

  • Performs account reconciliations related to payable, miscellaneous receivable, freight, prepaid expenses and utilities.

  • Discusses spending variances with department's managers.

  • Coordinates and expedites corrective actions for variances drivers.

  • Represents Finance in the site's forums/meetings and shares financial results

  • Calculates financial impact of CI initiatives.

  • Maintains internal control procedures as well as ensure compliance with SOX.

  • Acts as the back-up for the Cost Accounting and Fixed Assets/Inventory roles as required Participates in special projects as requested.

  • Also, supports other individuals in the PR GPS Finance Organization, as required.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance

  • Five (5) years of cost accounting experience in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Environment

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate and explain financial matters at all levels

  • Leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to influence others, teamwork mindset and customer oriented

  • Fully bilingual (Spanish/English); verbal and written communication

  • Proficient in Computerized Systems such as SAP, MS Office Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Willing to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays, when necessary

Accountable for leading the site fixed assets activities, including but not limited to accuracy of applicable system (SAP- Property Accounting) and for monitoring Capital Investments, projects close out and disposal asset requests (DAR's), depreciation and compliance with SOX activity controls. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs the analysis of fixed assets which include the following duties: * Analyzes Construction in Progress (CIP) account * Completes fixed assets capitalizations and reviews of useful life assumptions following the Fixed Assets Simplification Transformation methodology(FAST) * Maintains properly documentation of Project review and analysis(Projects quarterly review, commitment report review, meetings review minutes and other pertinent documentation) * Handles Disposal of Assets Report (DAR's) and fixed assets transfers. * Coordination and reconciliation of fixed assets inventory as required by internal controls * Budget and projections preparation (fixed assets and Inventory). * Prepares Capital Projects Financial Analysis (ROI, Payback, IRR, etc) * Serves as liaison with the Global Fixed Assets Team * Prepares statistics to monitor the progress of capital projects closing * Responsible for the analysis and reporting of Long Live Impairment and Asset Retirement Obligations. Performs the analysis of spare parts inventory which include the following duties: * Monitoring of spare parts spending and compliance with internal controls. * Monthly reconciliation of Accounting System (SAP) and the Maintenance System (MAXIMO). * Monitoring of the inventory cycle count program including random spot checks to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, analysis of obsolescence and coordination of ABC analysis based on current Standard Operating Procedure (SOP.) * Preparation of Budget and projections * Serve as liaison with the third party vendor managing BMS spare parts inventory. Performs the analysis of manufacturing inventory, including but not limited to: * Performing accounts analysis and reconciliation including inventory accounts and reserves. * Analyzing Inventory details for budget and projections (ending balances, reserves, write-off and revaluations.) * Monitoring of inventory transactions in SAP. * Calculation of the Inventory Obsolescence Reserve. * Coordination and verification of the ABC classification as per SOP. * Preparation of monthly closing analysis including write–off account reconciliation, inventory reserve and inventory revaluation. * Monitoring of inventory adjustments (excluding transactions related to sales) and the inventory cycle counts program including random spot checks to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. * Represent the Finance function in the Material Review Board and driving the process from the financial point of view. * Maintains internal control procedure for fixed assets, inventory control and spare parts inventory as well as ensure compliance with SOX. * Calculates financial impact of CI initiatives. * Provides the information necessary for taxes provision and/or analysis. * Provides support to departments-budget & projection preparation and financial results. * Performs special analyses and participates in special projects as deemed necessary. * Performs as back-up of the Reporting and Non-manufacturing role.
