The Senior Business Analyst (BA) will lead the organization in data analytics and information technology solutions. Primary responsibilities will include providing internal expertise on Navrisk, Unit4 and OnBase solutions, project management, enhancing data reporting and analytics structures, and technical advice as needed.

Essential Functions:

Data Analytics

  • Provide expertise on core systems to enhance data reporting and analytics structures including:

  • Work with internal and external customers to fully understand their information needs to provide the most appropriate response to inquiries; serve as a technical communicator between stakeholders to provide translation and ensure clarity and consistency on action items

  • Analyze and understand MPIE's data structures, and the capabilities or limitations of each system, to standardize, enhance, or repair these structures; understand data and information flow between systems and within end-user workflows

  • Maintain and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for internal and external customers

  • Support reporting for the finance department, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements

  • Respond to ad hoc report requests by modifying and expanding existing reports or generating new reports on tight deadlines

  • Standardize and automate reports when possible, using basic tools which allow employees to run simple reports on their own

  • Engage with process owners on both IS and business process improvements and support implementation of the same

  • Lead in the discovery and planning of change control efforts

  • Ensure change control procedures are followed and documentation is updated accordingly when performing any changes to applications, systems or user access

  • Utilize and maximize the use of existing tools, or recommend alternative tools to improve reporting capabilities or efficiencies

  • Develop predictive analytics and statistical projections when supported by underlying data

  • Work with Management to understand gaps in business intelligence and develop new reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support business decisions

Information Technology Solutions

In conjunction with internal staff and IS vendors, support and build out information technology solutions throughout the company including:

  • Understand the policies, procedures, and technology solutions that are in place to protect our data and be proactive if compliance issues are suspected

  • Maintain and draft as necessary IS standard work procedures in collaboration with vendor resources

  • Maintain and draft as necessary end-user system guides and orientation tools

  • Manage multiple simultaneous IS projects to successful completion; maximize technical improvement while minimizing cost

  • Coordinate and provide staff training for IS upgrades, new tools, and processes, including live training, instructional videos, collaborative training, reference documentation

  • Support Senior Business Systems Analyst and provide back up for critical functions.

  • Knowledge of SAP, business objects, or other web-based reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of multiple SQL variants.

Qualifications:

  • Three years' experience in supporting IS systems and end users required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in business analytics, organizational operations, information systems, insurance or other related area preferred.

This position is primarily focused on Finance and Underwriting tasks and provides administrative and operational support for other departments from time to time as needed. Essential Functions: * Able to work within multiple computer systems and utilize the appropriate software applications to maximize efficiency and accuracy of work. * Responsible for handling confidential and time-sensitive documents, deliveries and mailings. * Able to accurately complete work within established schedules, with multiple interruptions and competing priorities. * Engages in both company and team functions with a positive and supportive attitude. * Ensures internal and external customers are greeted positively, receive requested support or service, and are highly satisfied. * Performs basic office duties such as copying, filing, uploading, faxing and completing forms. * Able to perform data entry with a very high level of accuracy. Specific Responsibilities: Finance * Enter claim payment transactions into NavRisk, ensuring that all vendors have the accurate name and tax ID entered. * Ensure that all payment requests have adequate reserves and support, including follow-up with claims managers as needed. * Promptly communicate any delays or barriers to completing assigned tasks to the Finance Associate * Identify duplicate vendor information or incorrect addresses in NavRisk and communicate these to Finance Associate for analysis or correction. Underwriting * Assist with Underwriting Operations activities of the company such as: * Completion of all verification of coverage requests * System and software testing as needed * Developing standard work in relation to underwriting and business development functions * General support * Data analytics support * Other duties as requested Minimum Skills Requirement: * Exceptional customer service skills and team/collaboration mentality. * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. * Ability to type 60 WPM. * Flexibility to work 15-20 hours per week, as needed. * Highly motivated to perform efficiently, accurately and with a positive attitude. * Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to follow procedures. * Ability to perform in a high-volume, production environment with strict production metrics. * Ability to focus most of the time on verifying data, processing detailed instructions and performing simple data entry tasks. * Analytical and strong problem-solving skills. * Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality. * Ability to listen to others and take direction from managers. * Intermediate computer knowledge. Qualifications: * Associates Degree preferred, or equivalent experience, including 3 years of secretarial/computer (including Microsoft Office), strong knowledge of the insurance and/or healthcare industry and customer service techniques * Prefer experience in bookkeeping or finance department related support. This position is non-exempt. Qualified candidates must have the ability and flexibility to work overtime as needed with general office hours and coverage between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Start and end times will be determined by workflow needs.
