We are currently seeking a talented, highly motivated Senior Business Analyst who possesses expertise in multiple areas of operation. This person studies business operations to identify opportunities to improve efficiency or effectiveness, document process requirements, and communicate them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and business partners. The ideal candidate will interact and communicate collaboratively and effectively across organizational teams to foster a dynamic business partnership with the insurance product groups they support.

What you'll do:

  • Design and document business and system processes.

  • Identify and document emerging business requirements by determining the unique value drivers of business partners.

  • Translate business requirements into functionality and manage requirements effectively, while prioritizing competing business demands.

  • Create project effort estimates and quantify project specific risks through development lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

  • Articulate the business/financial impact of business problems.

  • Coordinate project delivery with project manager.

  • Analyze opportunities for process and system improvements and apply results to eliminate corresponding inefficiencies.

  • Perform moderately complex data analysis activities, create and execute complex queries, and critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources.

  • Mentor other business analyst.

  • Convey user preferences to development teams and demonstrate understanding of business users' information needs.

  • Stay abreast of technology standards/trends and relate to business problems.

  • Communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs.

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.

  • Manage projects as necessary; define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements.

  • Participate in operational planning, project planning, and estimating resource effort.

  • Act as a liaison between the business units and technology and support teams.

  • Train users as needed.

Required Skills

  • Familiar with project management and SDLC methodologies.

  • Ability to use analytical methods in business processes to find workable solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Ability to generate complex solutions within the IT department.

  • Familiarity with project delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall

  • A data and analytical background and experience working on insurance-related products is preferred.

Required Experience

Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field and 5-8 years of relevant business analyst experience. In lieu of education, 8 or more years of experience is required. Insurance knowledge a plus.

VIEW JOBS 4/25/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-24T00:00 Senior Business Intelligence Analyst The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst position will be responsible for contributing to the business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs for the organization This role works closely with the Data Architects, System Developers, and internal customers to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. It is essential that the Senior BI Analyst builds an understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical issues. They provide data that is accurate, congruent and reliable, and ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems. The Senior BI Analyst will educate and train customers to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and option exploration. Our Senior BI Analyst will work with customers to determine business requirements, priorities, and define key performance indicators (KPI). This includes working with business and development team to design and document dashboards, alerts (e.g. regulatory surveillance metrics), and reports. This role is accountable for facilitating information gathering, structured documentation, and presenting findings to all levels of management. The Senior BI Analyst conducts analyses of functional business processes and functional business requirements and participates in the development of business cases in the support of operations and improvement activity. The Senior BI Analyst must have an in-depth understanding of the business environment and an interest in going beyond the obvious, delving into the source, finding insights, and turning those insights into a story to drive impact and better decision making. They must work well within a team environment. Reports To: Director of Information Technology Requirements * Bachelor's Degree * 3-5 years Business Analyst experience in Sage/MAS or another major ERP system. * 1-2 years' experience with creating reports from centralized datasets and that contribute to the company's decision-making process. * Data warehouses Must be able to understand where source data comes from and the functionality and limitations of each API, the ETL process, and what is contained within a data warehouse * Analysis cubes Must understand the purpose of a cube and cube functionality including aggregations, measures, dimensions, bridging data, and role-based permissions * Active participation in projects: * For large projects, functionally report to the assigned Project Manager and complete project-related tasks as needed to meet the project objectives, * For smaller projects, fulfill the role of Project Manager. * As a resource of formal projects, functionally report to the assigned Project Manager and complete project-related tasks as needed to meet the project objectives. * Deep understanding of Data relationships with strong functional knowledge of Sage/MAS Accounting and Manufacturing, Human Resource Systems and Supply Chain applications. * Experience with business intelligence solutions for data consolidation and analysis (e.g. Crystal Reports. Sage 100 Intelligence Reporting, SAP BW, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.) preferred * Identify the Business requirements, Perform Gap Analysis and convert into Reporting solutions. * Ability to think strategically and balance a broad range of internal and external factors when identifying problems, proposing solutions, and making decisions. * Willingness and ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs Preferred * Experience in business process improvement and/or system design and improvement. * Strong quantitative skills and the ability to translate numbers into compelling stories * Understanding the technical ability to extract, transform and Integrate data from Non-ERP applications, work with Business stakeholders to eliminate Data Silos. * Technical knowledge to connect to data warehouses through a client application, such as Tableau or Excel, to create standalone models for use during requirements gathering. * Some knowledge of Visual Studio and SQL Server Analysis Services for assisting in cube development and familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services for maintaining reports. * Understand API frameworks and use available documentation. * SQL Server TSQL, Excel functions. * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
