The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest senior budget analyst on the Fiscal Administration team, working at our Central Office in beautiful downtown Columbus.

As a senior budget analyst, you'll complete statistical and quantitative analysis and complex financial reporting for the agency using spreadsheet and data management software. You'll research and analyze data for legal compliance and grant requirements, as well as process accounting journal entries, intra and inter agency billings, federal cash draws, and revenue deposits.

You'll perform specific roles in the agency accounts receivable system, complete and submit federal financial reports for agency grants for both annual and final closeout reporting, and perform research on historical transactions. For grants, you'll analyze awards to determine implementation requirements in accordance with grant requirements and agency fiscal policy. You'll respond to customer inquiries from the Ohio EPA eBusiness Center and participate in annual audits. You'll also be participating in the agency biennial budget preparation process, including completing required budget tables pursuant to budget guidelines.

Outside of the fiscal administration team, you'll collaborate with other Ohio EPA divisions and offices, other state agencies, stakeholders, and customers. You'll conduct accounts receivable collection for agency fees and calculate financial penalties for violators of environmental laws and regulations.

4 yrs. experience in budgeting that included fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g., probability statistics, linear regression, multiple variable regression, computer assisted regression analysis models, trend analysis, forecasting cost benefit analysis).

• Or completion of undergraduate core program in accounting, public finance, public administration or business administration; 24 mos. exp. in fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g., probability statistics, linear regression, multiple variable regression, computer assisted regression analysis models, trend analysis, forecasting cost benefit analysis).

• Or completion of graduate core program in accounting, public finance, public administration or business administration; 12 mos. exp. in fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g., probability statistics, linear regression, multiple variable regression, computer regression analysis models, trend analysis, forecasting cost benefit analysis).

• Or 12 mos. exp. as Budget Analyst, 63261.

• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
