What we need YOU to do:
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest senior budget analyst in the Division of Drinking and Ground Waters (DDAGW), working at our Central Office in Columbus.

As a senior budget analyst at Ohio EPA, you'll analyze grant awards to determine implementation requirements and help to approve grant allocations. You'll ensure grant revenues and expenditures are properly tracked as according to reporting requirements for the Public Water System Supervision program, the Underground Injection Control program, the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, and other supplemental federal funding. You'll create financial coding to effectively track grant financial information, process federal grant drawdowns for federal disbursements, and perform research on historical transactions for legal compliance, grant requirements, and policy design.
Additionally, you'll approve expenditures in the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS), comparing actual expenditures and revenues to estimates, analyzing and explaining the variances. You'll create, analyze, and interpret financial reports, as well as coordinate the procurement and payment of invoices. You'll reconcile fiscal transactions and analyze the cash flow of division funds to ensure adequate balances to pay current and future obligations. You'll serve as a liaison to troubleshoot any financial issues, questions, and communications with Ohio Shared Services when necessary, and recommend any necessary changes to policies and procedures.
As an analyst, you'll review public water systems' asset management programs financial documents to determine stability of water systems, as well as help to determine the appropriate course of action to bring water systems into compliance with applicable requirements.

4 yrs. experience in budgeting that included fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g., probability statistics, linear regression, multiple variable regression, computer assisted regression analysis models, trend analysis, forecasting cost benefit analysis).
