About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Brand Manager with a strong background in beauty innovation, backed by robust analytical skills, deep consumer, and market insights. This person balances strategic thinking with a resourceful approach and an intuitive understanding of social media. This role is instrumental in developing new brands to further delight our broad and passionate member base. This person will be charged with fleshing out brand positioning, carving out space in the competitive landscape, articulating product marketing, and collaborating cross-functionally on all aspects of product development, marketing, sourcing, and production.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Contributing to defining brand positioning, inclusive of target consumers, primary competitors, and key points of differentiation

  • Leading market & trend research to inform the creation of compelling, innovative brand right products

  • Developing and leading creative product concepts, in partnership with product development and sourcing, from prototype to execution

  • Owning the brand and collection as it relates to integrated campaigns, go-to-market strategy, customer acquisition, content strategy, user experience, and internal communications, and more

  • Partnering closely with cross-functional teams including product development, sourcing & production, Creative, IPSY marketing, merchandising, legal, media, and finance to deliver on brand equity, net revenue, and customer satisfaction

  • Leading a cross-functional team to ensure ownership of schedules and on-time delivery of product and assets

  • Interacting with celebrity and influencer partners (depending on the brand)

  • Staying current on social media platforms and competitor movements

What We're Looking For:

  • 6+ years in Marketing or Brand Management

  • Exceptional written and oral communication

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using qualitative and quantitative analysis to develop marketing strategies

  • A proven ability to collaborate effectively with creative teams as well as operationally driven functions

  • Open-minded and resourceful with a knack for problem-solving

  • Love of detail and highly organized

  • Bachelor's degree is required

  • MBA preferred

The Manager of Product Development - Color will be responsible contributing to the conceptualization, initiation, development, evaluation and follow-through for all color product development and reformulations in line with Beautycounters Mission and Never List. They will collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the parameters of each project is aligned with product development timeline, budget and schedule are followed with attention to detail in execution. Responsibilities: * Manage multiple color cosmetic projects (various product formats) concurrently with a high attention to detail, while being agile and adaptable to change, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. * Contribute to the development of clean beauty, innovative product concepts that generate new opportunities and address white-space opportunities for brand growth. * Manage and lead new and/or reformulation formula development briefs, while creating innovation concepts, technology and/or ingredient storytelling with Director and VP of Product Development. * Perform competitive research on new products, ingredient technologies, and competitive brand analysis to establish supporting data towards new products concepts. * Interact directly with strategic contract manufacturer partners and formulators to track projects and drive progress, on time and on budget, throughout the development process. * Collaborate with Global Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs to ensure new formula development and reformulations meet Beautycounters mission and commitments to performance and safety. * Collaborate with Chief Artistic Officer to establish formula performance/ shade prototypes for all new formula development and reformulation development. * Collaborate with Product Marketing, Legal and Regulatory on proposed product claims, key ingredient stories, and feature & benefits summaries. * Collaborate closely with the cross functional teams (Product Marketing, Project Management, Operations/Supply Chain, Package Development, Social Mission, Global Product Safety, Regulatory Affairs) to ensure products are brought to market on-time and on-budget. * Track assigned milestones for all projects in partnership with Project Management team. * Works with Director & VP of Product Development to ensure that processes according to Stage Gate are followed during development and communicated cross functionally. * Manage and report all clinical, sensory and consumer testing for products in development, as needed. * Travel to contract manufacturers to perform on-site formula development, shade matching, pilot/ scale-up and production batching, as needed. * Attend industry events, trade shows and supplier meetings to stay abreast of current trends and technologies, as needed. What you will bring to this role: * Minimum 5 years of product development experience and acumen in Color Cosmetics. * Passion for the beauty/color cosmetics consumer, market, industry and trends. * Commitment and passion for our mission and living Beautycounter Values - Transparent, Forward Thinking, Thoughtful, Determined and Spirited. * Proven track record of creating and executing compelling innovation strategies and product launches in color cosmetics. * Experience with managing contract manufacturer and supplier relationships. * Drive & Hustle: Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment and a capacity to manage project timelines under the guidance of Stage Gate. * Communication: Effective communication and collaboration with internal cross-functional organizations - from individual contributors to senior leadership. * Strong collaboration with external partners, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication, project organization and project management skills. * Efficiently anticipate, identify and articulate challenges in real-time and identify solutions. * Work autonomously, while keeping Director and VP of Product Development abreast to critical milestones, challenges and development needs. Job Requirements/ Qualifications: * Bachelors degree required with an emphasis in Business or Science. * 5+ years of experience in product development within the color cosmetic industry. * Leveraging natural curiosity to drive the identification of opportunities for creativity & innovation. * Demonstrates creative problem solving, excellent conceptual development skills and strong strategic, analytical thinking. * Strong proficiency in evaluating and re-directing formula and/or shade adjustments for all color cosmetic formats. * Experience working with R&D and Quality Assurance teams. * Self-starter with the ability to work independently and be flexible. * Detail oriented and strong organizational skills. * Willingness to travel up to 20%, domestically.
