THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Senior Business Intelligence Developer/Architect, you will be responsible for developing data structures for various business teams across the company that help them drive their business and marketing strategies. You'll be tasked with design, development, implementation, and oversight of data structures, data warehousing, and repositories, as well as report preparation. This role also requires experience with querying, extracting and analyzing raw data from multiple large and complex SQL and other data sources using various reporting platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling and will generate meaningful insights to influence business decisions and can play multiple roles including architect, report developer, and end user trainer/mentor. This role is based in our Jersey City, NJ global headquarters which has a flexible hybrid work model (2-3 days in-office, 2-3 days remote per week)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement data models, dashboards, and reports in the two enterprise BI tools - Power BI, and ThoughtSpot to enable business users to access, analyze, and visualize data.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and understand their data needs, design BI solutions, and provide technical expertise to deliver effective BI solutions that support internal and external reporting.

• Work with the database team to optimize database design and ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability.

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for system implementation while working with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of goals and tactics.

• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into the BI solutions.

• Create documentation and provide training to users to ensure they can effectively use the BI solutions.

• Stay up to date with new BI technologies and tools to enhance the organization's BI capabilities.

• Perform unit and integration testing and participate in reporting validations pertaining to reporting and data analytics, including testing of embedded BI reports.

• Apply advanced analytics techniques to drive thoughtful decision-making throughout the entire process and deliver a fully scalable platform.

• Keep thorough documentation of changes in design/structure, as well as any bugs/glitches in the system and/or process.

• Mentor team members by guiding their efforts, providing learning opportunities, and making insightful strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field demonstrating technical expertise.
• 2+ years of experience in leading strategies, designing approaches, and understanding technologies for BI processes in large-scale data management environments.
• 3+ years of experience in building interactive reports, dashboards, and/or integrating modeling results using Power BI and ThoughtSpot, including experience with embedding BI reports.

Proficient in the use of Data Analytics Expressions (DAX) and Power Query

• Deep knowledge of architectures for business intelligence, analytics, and data management solutions, including cloud-based and traditional databases, data warehouses, and other storage resources.

• Knowledge of ETL processes and tools, strong SQL skills, and experience in developing complex SQL queries & stored procedures.

• Solid knowledge of Power BI and ThoughtSpot report performance optimization.

• Extensive experience with and success in designing Business Intelligence plans from inception to production rollout and support.

• Ability to work with minimal direction while being proactive in keeping management informed of project-related issues.
