Senior Back End Software Engineer, Bank Modernization

We are looking for talented Back End Software Engineers who are enthusiastic about combining data with the latest technologies.

As a part of our Bank Modernization initiative, you will play a key role in transforming our core systems and platforms. Capital One is committed to a long-term investment in modernizing our core technologies.

As a new addition to our Bank Tech teams, you will collaborate to develop critical components of this new core platform, working alongside cross-functional teams to drive innovation that improves operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Lead a variety of technology projects while managing a team of skilled developers focused on distributed microservices and full stack systems to deliver solutions that meet the company's regulatory requirements. Stay ahead of technology trends; engage in experiments with new technologies, contribute to professional communities, mentor fellow engineers, and occasionally review or write code.

Work closely with digital product managers to deliver comprehensive cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans in their financial journeys. Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, alongside open-source databases, container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and a range of AWS services. Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree. At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internship experience). At least 1 year of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud). Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree. 7 years of experience with Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js. 2 years of experience with a cloud service (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.). 4 years of experience working with open-source frameworks. 1 years of experience in a people management role. 2 years of experience practicing Agile methodologies.

For candidates hired in other locations, salary ranges will apply according to that specific location. The actual salary offered will be detailed in the offer letter. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
