Senior Aviation and Multi-Modal Project Manager
The greatest change to air travel since deregulation is happening on the airport landside and we are not only bearing witness to it but actively engaged in its evolution. TNC's have been an enormous change on the airport landside some describe it as chaotic and disruptive. Others see it as exciting and liberating. The concept of mobility as a service is not too far off into the future and, in many respects, it's simply the next step in the evolution that was kicked off by the TNCs. Autonomous vehicles may not be too far off into the future as well. So what will this look like and how will we get there? Big questions that will take a lot of thought, dialogue and time to figure out. The important point is that we have the ability and responsibility to do all we can to nudge the evolution in the right direction. We are currently searching for a Senior Project Manager within the aviation, multi-modal industries to assist in leading our aviation practice to service the evolving needs of the airport landside environment as well as promoting a culture of quality, innovation, thought leadership and safety.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture (advance degree preferred)
Minimum 15 years of aviation and/or multi-modal design experience working with and/or for an Airport Authority that operates a large to medium size International Airport in the United States
Minimum 10 years of Project Management experience with aviation and multi-modal facility planning, programming and design
Strong relationships with Airport Authority staff at all levels, at large and mid-size airports
Previous experience managing project staff
Business development experience including strategies to maintain existing clients and win new clients, executing client action plans and client-focused business development activities, research and involvement with responses to proposals.
Licensed Engineer or Architect
Travel is required and consistent with the nature of the aviation consulting industry.
Experience with the airport landside (curbside/parking/access planning, programming and design)
Licensed Engineer or Architect in multiple states
LEED Certified Professional
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervises/manages/coordinates design team members during the initiation and implementation of design process to ensure clarity and quality of initial design concept is maintained through detail level.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Organizes and develops project team to execute specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and project inspection. Must be able to delegate.
Prepares project proposal estimates of the time and expense required to complete the project.
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and manpower, resolving design problems.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Shows understanding of team management, develops project scope of work, estimating manpower needs, prepare CPM schedules, and tracks project progress.
Assures the project is completed within the allocated period of time and within the budget that has been assigned.
Maintains close relationship with client throughout development of project and after the project is completed.
May direct the inspection of construction site to monitor progress and ensure general conformance to plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
Can plan and execute a project meetings.
Can negotiate a difficult project issue with the client, such as scope changes or schedule acceleration.
Assures the project meets quality control and quality assurance guidelines.
Interprets changes in the contract and advises management on needed changes.
Encourages uniformly high design and production standards and monitors projects to ensure that quality and production standards are met for all design and contract documents.
Ensure overall client satisfaction.
Understands Company strengths and weaknesses; sets goals and objectives for firm's success; elevates and brands company as an exemplary, frontier leader in architecture within the transportation industry.
Identify, pursue, and win work through established relationships and technical expertise.
Collaborates with the Aviation and Transit Market Sector Leaders, Region Vice President and Managing Director to support the firm's leaders in developing local and diversified market initiatives.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Develop strategies to maintain existing clients and win new clients.
Execute client action plans and client-focused business development activities.
Involvement with Request for Proposals.
