Senior Automation Engineer

Trissential is seeking a Senior Consultant, QA Automation Engineer to join our client team in a remote capacity. This role is open only to candidates authorized to work and reside in the US.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Senior QA Engineer contributing "hands-on" expertise and driving excellence within the Product Technology team

• Develop and deliver high-quality automation for API, mobile, and some web applications to support high-quality deliveries in an agile environment

• Provide testing and automation support for mobile devices (Android and iOS apps) and their supporting backend services

• Collaborate with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC to understand and refine requirements, scope testing efforts, and identify regression impacts

• Prioritize test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios effectively

• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and promote Test-Driven Development, championing an 'automation first' strategy

• Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs associated with applications and domains

• Continuously drive improvements to processes and tools for automation

• Collaborate with DevOps Engineers to enhance Continuous Integration pipelines

• Participate in design and architecture discussions

• Document, track, and escalate issues as appropriate using JIRA

• Review and debug both automation and product code

• Develop a deep understanding of the specific product area and how it fits into the broader product offerings

• Stay updated with new skills and advancements in technology, demonstrating a passion for continuous learning and development

Essential skills

• Coding in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python (or ability to learn quickly)

• API Automation and UI Automation (mobile or web) with good organizational and automation practices

• Page object design approach

• Testing mobile devices (iOS and Android)

• API/RESTful service testing

• CI/CD processes (Gitlab or similar tooling)

• Decomposing features to identify critical automation components

• Risk assessment, test strategy creation, and quality validation of testing plans & procedures

• Issue and task management with Jira or other PMT

• Training, mentoring, and leading junior and mid-level AQAs

• Agile software product delivery

• Engaging with engineers, data scientists, internal customers, and company leaders constructively and collaboratively

• Self-starter who can take ownership of work in a fast-paced environment

Experience

• 6+ years as SDET or Automation Engineer

• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix, Kubernetes/Docker, AWS platform, Kafka

• Working with automation platforms like Browserstack or Saucelabs

• Performance testing with tools like Gatling, K6, or others

• Monitoring with Splunk/New Relic

• Using Terraform

• Coding in Java or Scala

• Working on or closely with DevOps teams

• Conducting code reviews for Scala

Benefits

Trissential offers competitive compensation package for full time roles. The hourly pay range for this role is $55 to $65 based on candidate's qualifications and experience. This role is eligible for benefits and includes options for medical, dental, vision, and tele-health benefits; Health Savings Account with company contribution; up to 48 hours of accrued paid safe and sick time, and 401k retirement savings.
