Description

Asour Senior I Engineer at Air MI Manufacturing, you'll ensure that Process teamshave the correct equipment and tooling necessary to transform raw materialsinto finished product. You'll specify, design, build/purchase, and install newproduction equipment required to meet increased production needs. You'llprovide technical support to maintain, repair and/or replace equipment andtooling, as well as, modify existing production equipment to improve bothreliability and functionality. A requirement for this position is ademonstrated ability to create and modify electrical control systems forindustrial equipment including robotics. This includes panel layout, schematicdrawings, PLC, HMI, pick and place, and robotic software creation, includingvision guided robotic systems. In addition, you will help drive engineeringactivities for new products. You'll support prototype development runs anddrive commercialization of new processes and tooling while utilizing LeanManufacturing methods to minimize waste and maximize efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree inElectrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or other manufacturing relateddegree

  • 4 additional years'directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree

  • 5+ years' experience inAutomation or Systems Engineering within a high-volume manufacturing productionenvironment

  • 3-5 years of controlsengineering experience

  • Experience in designingelectrical systems for industrial equipment required

  • Experience inprogramming PLCs and HMI is required

  • Experience with AllenBradley and Siemens control systems is a plus

  • Experience in robotintegration is required

  • Experience with ABBand/or Denso Robotics is a plus

  • Experience withtroubleshooting industrial machinery which requires strong knowledge in bothelectrical and mechanical systems

  • Experience in LEANManufacturing or similar principles and practices

  • Possess a detailed andmethodical approach to problem solving

  • Ability to work withassociates of all levels including managers, engineers, machine operators,quality technicians, line supervisors, and maintenance technicians

  • Proven projectmanagement skills

  • Programming visionsystems using Cognex In-sight Explorer or similar software packages is a plus

  • End of Arm (EOA) Toolingexperience is a plus

  • Process knowledge of Thermoforming,Thermoplastic Polyurethanes, Injection molding and/or RF welding is a plus
