Job Description: Purpose:
The Senior Automation and Monitoring Engineer develops scripts and recipes to automate O/S builds, code deployment and COTS configurations in complex server environments. The Engineer is responsible for engineering, design and implementation of automation tools (Jenkins, Jira, Ansible, Octopus, etc.) and scripts (PowerShell, python, etc.) as part of an automated installation and deployment process.
Collaborates with operations staff, vendors, development teams, and security teams to ensure secure and reliable operation of software and systems
Works with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
Develops operational and application monitoring roadmap and design solution
Reviews effectiveness of designed monitoring and automation solutions
Provides technical services, design, and support for the following areas:
o Internal systems, cloud and network infrastructure.
o Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, O365
o Virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft
o Tool chain automation
o Systems and Application monitoring
o Development team support in an operational capacity
o Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
Manages escalated support issues related to core business solutions.
Documents standards, policies, procedures, and architectural documentation for all computer systems infrastructure
Maintains availability for other engineers and administrators and coach them to resolution
Gauges the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Proposes and creates system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams.
Designs and performs server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Integrates servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
Ensures compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
Monitors and tests system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.

Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree preferred. Four years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree.
8+ years of relevant Infrastructure/IT experience related to system installation and configuration
5+ years' experience with automation/devops tools such as Jenkins, Jira, ELK, Octopus, Ansible, Docker, etc., SaltStack, Fabric or similar products for O/S builds, software installation and configuration
Systems integration experience
Ability to troubleshoot complex configuration problems or system issues
Experience with Windows and/or Linux System Administration
Strong scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.)
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both written and oral
Experience with Managed Service and Cloud based services: RackSpace, Azure, AWS
SDLC/DevOps Tools (Jenkins, ansible, New relic, Splunk, Jira, etc.)
vSphere, Citrix, SQL, and Terminal ServicesLinux and Microsoft operating systems Cloud platform configuration, management, and implementation (Amazon/Azure)
Certifications Desired: Sitecore Certified Developer, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Ansible Automation, Certified Jenkins Engineer, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Specialist: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions, Microsoft Specialist: Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions
