Plan and execute portions of the Risk & Control Services plan, including audit activities and SOX/MAR compliance activities, present objectives and results to various levels of management. Execute on a structured approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. Identify control deficiencies, assess exposure and significance, and propose cost effective recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute portions of the Risk & Control Services plan, including audit activities and SOX/MAR compliance activities. Present objectives and results to various levels of management. Execute on a structured approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

  • Identify control deficiencies, assess exposure and significance, and propose cost effective recommendations.

  • Gather information and provide input into risk assessments in conformance with department standards, generally in less complex areas.

  • Monitor and validate Management Action Plan status and recommend closure of Management Action Plans when actions are complete and identified deficiencies have been addressed.

  • Coordinate with appropriate control groups in planning, and executing assigned work. Complete work within established time lines. Proactively communicate/escalate challenges and roadblocks that impact ability to meet established time lines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.

  • Availability to travel.

  • 1-3 years in public accounting, internal audit, technology audit or related financial services field.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic audit skills and business knowledge.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for project leadership.

VIEW JOBS 11/20/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-18T00:00 This position is responsible for performing audit work pertaining to audits and control consulting engagements that evaluate corporate management, business processes, business controls, risk assessments and operating practices with Amundi Pioneer Asset Management USA Inc. and its subsidiaries. The Senior Auditor should clearly demonstrate proficiency in evaluating and testing internal controls and in applying risk based audit skills to business units in the Americas. Key Responsibilities: * Perform assigned audit work in accordance with department and IIA standards. * Develop internal audit scope, identify and assess risks and associated mitigating controls with an aim to improve the control environment. * Devise effective, risk-based and efficient tests of key controls. * Manage projects within time budgets and target dates, reporting any timing problems or budget over-runs to managers. * Lead staff auditor and review completed work papers prepared by audit staff to ensure sound audit theory and compliance with the department's risk based audit methodology. * Present or assist in the presentation of findings and recommendations to business unit management; resolve contentious issues and reach agreement on appropriate solutions. * Prepare audit reports making practical and value-added recommendations to improve risk management practices and the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. * Perform follow-up reviews of outstanding internal audit issues and prepare reporting thereof. * Provide feedback to staff on assignments and contribute to their development. * Assist Internal Audit Management with periodic reporting to the Board and our parent company, Amundi. * Utilize technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audit process. * Perform other duties as assigned or required. Management Responsibilities: Does this position manage staff, monitor performance, provide guidance and coaching, make compensation, and, or hire/fire decisions? Yes: _____ No: __X__ Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related area. * 3 – 5 years of prior internal or external audit experience preferred. * A recognized auditing designation (CPA, CIA or CISA) or working towards auditing designation. * Demonstrate knowledge of audit methodologies, project management, control frameworks and risk management practices, and regulatory requirements. * Knowledge of investment management, mutual funds, securities, and, or the complete trade cycle is a plus. * Demonstrate understanding of business processes and their risk implications, analyze situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make value-added and practical recommendations. * Strong planning, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills. * Ability to effectively communicate ideas and recommendation orally and in writing, and to listen and consider ideas of others. * Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects. * Ability to deal effectively with staff and audit management. * Proficiency in MS Office tools. * The above cited duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work performed by an incumbent assigned to the job.
