We work with emerging technologies that have the potential to transform businesses and create new categories in the market. We partner closely with our Engineering and Research colleagues and in many aspects work like a startup, proving product-market fit and validating business hypotheses to graduate business incubations from one growth phase to the next. The team charter is expansive spanning responsibilities across a wide range of functions required to incubate billion dollar businesses, from business and product strategy, product/audience/industry marketing, field and partner enablement, to community engagement. Autonomous systems is one of the incubations this team is leading. Autonomous systems is the next frontier for AI as it expands from the digital realm of business processes and games to the physical world of engineered systems like machines and robots. Our goal is to bring AI to Engineers to help them go beyond rules-based logic and build control systems infused with machine intelligence that can sense the environment and respond dynamically to changing conditions to accomplish their goal. We are building on technologies such as reinforcement learning, machine teaching and simulations to create real-world innovation and AI that is explainable and can be trusted. Our vision is to democratize this technology to every business to help them dramatically improve safety, productivity and revenue — going beyond the self-driving cars application that dominates today's news cycles. From a culture perspective we are looking for individuals who are motivated by business impact, self-starters who can lead independently with limited supervision, who excel at collaborating closely with a small team, having a learner and growth mindset always trying to improve, willingness to take risks with a high tolerance for failure, ability to quickly adapt to changes, take in diverse and opposing perspectives, and curiosity to investigate whenever they hit obstacles or sense opportunities. * 5+ years of experience in startups, product management, or marketing roles * Strong collaboration and communication skills * Growth mindset - receptive to constructive feedback and eager to continuously improve * Strong passion for technology and interest in AI * BS degree is required, MBA or graduate degree preferred Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer. We have a couple openings for product managers to support the autonomous systems platform incubation, and over time other incubations that this team will be responsible for.
