About the role

The Senior Nutrition Scientist is aware of our purpose and acts as an ambassador of our compass and leadership behaviors. Understands how projects and initiatives fit within the strategic business needs. Makes decisions on their own with support.

Your responsibilities

• Demonstrates quick adaptation and responds to change by developing creative solutions for everyday problems. Identifies and supports delivery of innovative nutrition science solutions according to the operating model and nutrition science process. Questions and challenges conventional approaches.

• Interprets the scientific evidence and consumer needs and sees opportunities for innovation. Identifies opportunities and applies knowledge to create differentiated solutions by designing science-based nutrition profiles for new and improved formulations.
  
  Applies consumer and HCP insights to support development, substantiation, and review of messaging. Critically analyzes and recognizes gaps in scientific evidence and proposes solutions. Leads and/or contributes to nutrition research that addresses business needs.

• Proactively identifies and develops new working relationships. Adheres to core values in all situations.
  
  Discusses and exchange information with stakeholders to identify areas of mutual interest and benefit. Partners cross functionally with R&D and with other peers.

• Understands and leverages scientific databases, consumer marketing insight tools and other digital data to support decision making. Disseminates learnings within the team.

The experience we're looking for

• Ph.D. in Nutrition or related discipline with excellent general knowledge of nutrition. Additional relevant experience may be considered in combination with M.S. degree or other advanced and relevant degrees.

• Experience in pediatric and adult nutrition preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships and networks with culturally and technically diverse groups.

• Ability to function as a nutrition science representative in cross-functional teams, prioritize responsibilities, and deliver a full range of results under tight time constraints and changing priorities.

• Capable of identifying and driving the application of nutrition science to generate positive business results.

• Excellent writing, reporting, and presenting skills.

• Strong competency with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point).

Understands commercial and financial terms and recognizes impact of own work on achievement of objectives.

• Strong understanding of pediatric and adult nutrition to help bring innovations to market and support R&D Operations. Able to demonstrate this in cross functional meetings.
  
  Supports and educates teams with understanding of the scientific literature. Develops and maintains an in-depth understanding of the literature and scientific expert recommendations as well as application of regulations. Ability to communicate clearly and without ambiguity.
  
  Readily applies skills to work independently. Seeks developmental opportunities to enhance knowledge. Networks and collaborates to enhance expertise.

• Able to set clear objectives and targets and define milestones to enable delivery of results. Accountable for delivering results set for themselves.
  
  Recognizes gaps or issues in performance and can rectify. Knows when to readjust priorities and seeks opportunities for simplification and improvement.

US salary ranges

USD $93,000.00 - $139,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
