Working in a participative team based environment, using World Class Operations (WCO) processes and principles, the Senior Engineer participates on teams developing, designing, installing and starting-up new products, product improvements and technology upgrades for larger projects. Assignments emphasize the integration of knowledge in the specialist's discipline. Plans and leads medium sized projects with minimal management, and participate on teams as an expert in the discipline. Demonstrates proficiency in analytical problem-solving using multi-discipline consultations. Evaluates and selects outside consultants used to supplement in-house staff in the specialist's discipline. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of project scope definition and scope change management, development and management of schedule and resources.

Key Responsibilities

People and Leadership

  • Support and lead project teams, Ops Services and WCO initiatives.

  • Ability to coach and develop self and others in the course of completing work assignments.

  • Participate in and share information on technical seminars for Maintenance and Operations in order to stay up to date on current trends, changes, and technological advancements

  • Develop personal skills and mentor / train teams (Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational) on new techniques, etc.

  • Key advocate for Engineering innovation

  • Embrace and champion CPM One Right Way process

Safety and Core Ops Services Objectives

  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Corporate and project safety performance by supporting the safety programs and initiatives

  • Deliver project safety performance objectives

  • Lead cost savings initiatives and manage project spending

  • Support environmental sustainability goal achievement during project planning and execution

Technical Leader and Business Ownership

  • Provides solid input and insight to the team on business and engineering needs and proposals

  • Support and drive regulatory compliance

  • Manage projects in accordance with Clorox Engineering Standards and processes to achieve required results, timing, and budgetary targets

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering Degree from an accredited institution BSME / BSEE / BSChE)

  • 5 years of engineering experience

  • Experience with capital projects and capital budget process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good business judgment with ability to calibrate with business objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve quality results and meet deadlines

  • Solid analytical skills

  • High level of initiative and ability to drive results

  • Change management experience and discipline

  • BSME / BSEE / BSChE) from an accredited institution.

  • 2+ years of experience in Operations and 2+ years in Staff Engineering

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP or equivalent, and utilization of Engineering Standards

  • Problem solving, data collection, and analysis skills

  • WCO / TPM / Lean Manufacturing processes and techniques

  • Proven skills to effectively document and communicate technical information

  • Background in consumer packaged goods environment

  • Excellent presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Understands Continuous Improvement Methodology
