Senior Associate, Tax Accounting Services
The Tax Accounting Services practice of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC San Jose is seeking to further expand its tax services practice with the addition of a Senior Associate of Tax Accounting Services, specializing in ASC 740 accounting for income taxes. While this practice primarily focuses on tax provision consulting and compliance services, A&M's Tax Accounting Services professionals may also work in other federal technical areas related to corporate tax compliance and M&A transactions. In many cases, our Tax Accounting professionals manage day-to-day client service relationships, and as such, serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that help to improve compliance with taxing entities, while maintaining each client's overall tax risk profile.
Manage tax provision preparation for quarterly and annual reporting for both SEC registrants and private entities;
Advise clients on tax accounting aspects of complex transactions, including IPO readiness, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, restatements, and post-bankruptcy fresh start accounting;
Lead special projects in specific technical areas such as tax basis balance sheets, valuation allowance, accounting for uncertain tax positions, indefinitely reinvested earnings assertion, outside basis differences, and share-based payments;
Review clients' tax accounting processes and internal controls for assessment of risk and remediation actions;
Manage U.S. tax compliance projects for multinational companies;
Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses;
3+ years experience in tax provisions and compliance
Proven, excellent communication skills
Excellent research and writing skills
Experience with all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel), GoSystems, and research software
Bachelor or Masters in Accounting or Taxation required
