Senior Associate Software Test Engineer

Overview

VTG is seeking a motivated Senior Associate Software Test Engineer to modernize and improve the submarine tactical software system testing programs in Manassas, VA. This position is a hybrid position with remote work options and flexible schedules.

What will you do?

The selected candidate will work with a team of test engineers, systems engineers, and operators to implement commercial test support software and other new tools and techniques into new and existing test programs.

• Design new testing methods built around a mission-based testing concept.

• Support novel, bespoke algorithms and software suites designed for this system.

• Trace requirements to tests and update tests and documentation as requirements change.

• Provide technical input to program managers and government representatives.

• Provide recommendations in planning, coordinating, and executing test events.

Tasking will include test modernization, use of automation tools, and incorporating mission-based testing. This role requires a detail-oriented engineer who will creatively apply current test automation tools and techniques to update legacy processes.

Do you have what it takes?

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, preferably Systems Engineering.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience with requirements documentation and/or test execution.

• US Citizen with current Secret clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

• Successful completion of background check.

Desired Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with automated testing and tools.

• Experience with naval tactical systems, preferably submarine systems.

• Experience with requirement analysis and evaluation.

• Experience using manual, semi-automatic, and/or automated test systems.

• SysML experience including experience with software like MagicDraw.

• Experience with Linux systems.

Travel Requirements:

• Minimal travel, mostly in the Manassas area
