The Immunotoxicology Center of Emphasis (CoE) in Drug Safety Research & Development (DSRD) is a global resource focused on supporting assay development and sample testing for non-clinical and clinical studies in the areas of hypersensitivity, immunomodulation, and immuno-oncology. These efforts support multiple Therapeutic Areas in the risk assessment process, regulatory filings, and investigative studies to understand the impact on the immune system for pharmaceutical entities (small molecules, biologics, and novel modalities) during all stages of drug development.

Role Description:

The successful candidate will work in a team environment and will primarily focus on the conduct of plate-based immunoassays and cell-based assays in support of investigational and strategic work as well as non-clinical and clinical studies. The incumbent will conduct non GLP assays within all areas supported by the CoE. Additionally, the candidate will explore new technologies and generate data for publishing findings to influence the external environment. This person will effectively work on several projects at a time and interact with staff from other departments within DSRD.

Competencies:

  • Practical experience with the conduct of immunoassays; ELISA, ECL (Electrochemiluminescent assays), or other assay platforms and cell-based assays (e.g., proliferation, cytotoxicity, receptor binding, phagocytosis, ADCC [Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity]).

  • Capabilities in ELISpot, flow cytometry, and cell culture are highly desired.

  • Strong attention to detail and trouble shooting skills are needed, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across lines, and to deliver on projects within timelines.

  • Sound written and oral communication skills are required to maintain laboratory notebooks, prepare project plans, generate reports, and to present project plans and data to teams.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in immunology, toxicology or related biological science.

  • Education and practical training in the area of immunology are highly desirable.

  • Experience in developing immune and cell-based in vitro assays.

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 The Senior Associate Scientist will join the SPECTech Group whose mission is to elevate the understanding of process operations through the appropriate use of integrated PAT technology, multivariate data analytics and advanced process control in support of drug substance and drug product development and manufacturing. The candidate with help with the development of FAST platform technologies by utilizing appropriate sensors and online analytics. The candidate will work with vibrational spectroscopy instruments, perform multivariate data analytics and draw appropriate conclusions from various experiments. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES * Collaborate with project team to monitor reactions to enhance process understanding. * Assist with instrument support, calibration and installation across the Pfizer suite of activities in support of drug substance synthesis. * Support the development of FAST platform technologies by utilizing PAT approaches for process monitoring. * Contribute to the data analyses of reactions, drawing appropriate conclusions and summarizing in oral and written communications as needed. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * BS/MS Degree and 0-3 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry or Engineering. * Knowledgeable in vibrational spectroscopy (NIR, IR, Raman, UV-Vis) as well as understanding of other analytical techniques such as MS, NMR, HPLC and GC. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Microsoft Office, Matlab, or other chemometrics software is desirable. * Engineering experience: unit operations, process engineering, and continuous manufacturing is a plus. * Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills. * Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude. * Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
