Senior Associate, Project Management - Cyber Risk Management
Cyber Risk Management (Cyber RM), a component of Operational and Compliance Risk (OCR) within Capital One, is a growing organization focused on providing expert advice, credible challenge, and effective oversight of information security and technology activities to identify, assess, control, and manage cyber risk throughout the company. This organization plays a critical role in helping to ensure the company's risk-taking entities are aware of the risks inherent in their activities and decisions, the impact of their actions at an enterprise level, and opportunities to reduce, mitigate, or avoid the risks altogether. Associates within Cyber RM are highly-skilled information security, cyber, technology, and risk management professionals who have a wealth of experience and a demonstrated ability to provide value-added recommendations and deliver high-impact results in their area(s) of expertise.
As the Senior Project Manager you will partner with our lead Scrum Master and Chief Cyber Risk Officer to lead the organization through projects and help the organization deliver on its top priorities. Specifically, this associate will:
Develop and coordinate Cyber RM processes and program governance maturation
Drive Agile maturity and innovative approaches across the organization;
Assist vertical teams in building project/program roadmaps and project managing the execution
Assist in managing key project deliverables across all initiatives (including management of the project in Jira tool)
Participate in Sprint/Project planning; analyze dependencies
Act as a go-to person for team-related questions and governance
Participate in the centralized management of Cyber RM Audit & Exams (includes Cyber RM-owned, Cyber RM-impacted audits and exams, Cyber/Tech focused audits and exams)
Manage and maintain audit and regulatory interactions for Cyber RM (e.g., regulatory updates, audit status, etc.)
Analyze, monitor, mitigate and/or remediate Cyber RM audit findings and MRIA/MRAs
And resolve or escalate impediments to help the organization deliver on its top priorities.
Serve as the organization's project manager and coach junior and senior colleagues on the basics of project management, Scrum, or Kanban
Develop and implement project plans to integrate Agile into all aspects of the organization's work
Manage complex cybersecurity or IT projects and leverage data to measure and monitor progress against commitments
Foster a culture of openness, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Implement Agile maturity and other innovation models throughout the organization
A bachelor's degree or military experience
At least 1 year of experience working with Agile teams
At least 1 year of experience working in the fields of information security, cyber, IT, or risk management
