Senior Associate

Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. seeks to fill the position of Senior Associate in West Conshohocken, PA.

Develop and maintain quantitative analytics and visualization tools for fundamental equity long/short and systematic futures/equities strategies by leveraging Python, SQL, and Tableau. Quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate fitness and risk characteristics of prospective systematic managers and present to the investment committee.

Maintain relationship with quantitative portfolio managers to ensure active communication on portfolio performance, positioning, research pipelines and overall portfolio manager insights. Assist in developing risk guidelines as well as building customized quantitative tools to ensure daily monitoring of exposures against guidelines. Provide commentary on performance and risk positioning with respect to relevant market events. Work with Technology to ensure portfolio data integrity, as well as develop and enhance data processes.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering, Finance, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as an Associate, Analyst, or a related occupation. Requires Three (3) years of experience with: Leveraging systematic trading strategies in a multi-asset framework including: equity statistical arbitrage, high frequency trading and global systematic macro strategies; Conducting hedge fund investment due diligence; Analyzing hedge fund performance and risk; Using multi-factor risk models to analyze hedge fund exposures; Using statistical techniques including regression and time-series analysis to analyze manager risk exposures as well as performance attribution; Programming in VBA, SQL, R, and Python; Using Tableau to visualize data; Using Excel to analyze data and automate reports; and leveraging Bloomberg Terminal to track intraday market action and portfolio PnL, as well as stress testing multi-asset portfolios in Bloomberg MARS/PORT.
