KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate to join our Mergers & Acquisitions practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services including planning, research, and other mergers and acquisitions activities

  • Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on delivering due diligence and tax structuring services, and communicates findings and opportunities to clients

  • Assist clients with current issues which may include bankruptcy emergence planning, out of court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, earning and profits, and section 382 studies

  • Liaise with a target company's finance/accounting departments and tax advisors to gather pertinent facts for an analysis of tax risks

  • Develop, motivate, and train staff-level team members

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in federal tax and/or mergers and acquisition in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm

  • Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Masters in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university

  • Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters in various industries

  • Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams

  • Excellent research and writing skills

Within our M&A offering portfolios, our M&A Finance offering provides the functional expertise required to unlock deal value and execute issue-free integrations within the Finance function. Our practitioners combine transaction-driven experience with deep finance strategy and process knowledge to provide clients with the tools and strategic insights to navigate change and capture value. Work you'll do Senior Consultants in Deloitte's M&A offering portfolio serve as trusted advisors to their clients in both the corporate and private equity space. They synthesize overall strategy by analyzing a wide variety of solutions, selecting the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements such as business case, pricing, or complex financial analysis, and interpreting and reporting on outputs. The team M&A | Restructuring and Cost Transformation Our mandate is to enable our clients' ability to grow, optimize, and fundamentally change the nature of their business and competitive position. We do this via M&A, divestiture, and restructuring services from beginning to end. Our Offering enables pre-deal and post-deal integration, divestiture, and major restructuring/cost transformation activities to achieve/exceed deal value, synergy targets, or strategic cost takeout objectives. Qualifications A candidate must meet the minimum experience in one or more of the below: Must have M&A or M&A Service Delivery Experience in the following areas: * Experience participating in setting engagement objectives and scope * Experience developing work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between work streams and identify changes in scope. * Experience designing deliverable content to precisely reflect the engagement contract and client needs and strive to improve deliverable quality through verification and validation of results. * Knowledge of core financial processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, etc.) and potential impacts associated with merger activities. * Industry or consulting experience with financial reporting, finance processes, finance transformation/strategy, or finance shared services, particularly in relation to M&A or restructuring activity. * Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years consulting and/or industry experience; alternatively an MBA with 3+ years relevant work experience is acceptable. * A Bachelor's Degree is required. * Ability to travel 80-100% required. Additional Requirements: * Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint). * Ability to work independently; lead small teams focused on specific work streams of larger projects. * Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment. * Eagerness to mentor junior staff. * An advanced degree.
