Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Associate role to be part of a growing Global Sourcing and Procurement (GSP) team. With limited supervision, this individual will lead strategic sourcing projects, perform data analysis, assist in departmental reporting and general contract management. This position will have tremendous opportunities to expand an individual skill set in different Sourcing and Procurement areas. Primary responsibilities include executing the sourcing process for several indirect categories in addition to supporting senior GSP management on high value/complex projects. This person may assume and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to the position.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Support strategic sourcing efforts for business unit operations in areas such as information technology, telecom, staff augmentation, maintenance services, third-party data and related platforms, professional services and outsourced agreements and other categories as assigned

  • Identify proactive sourcing opportunities to reduce costs, increase services or manage company risk

  • Conduct research and benchmarking; work with other department staff to provide key subject matter expertise on assigned spend categories

  • Drive, lead and support supplier selection (including RFx) processes in alignment with business partners and negotiate contracts up to final authorization including dispute resolution, approving and qualifying vendors, financial terms, etc

  • Drive and support the creation and implementation of sourcing and supplier strategies and ensure compliance with procurement policies, standards and guidelines. Development and management of the technology supplier roster in collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Continuously drive to improve program quality, budget adherence, and successful outcomes. Success may be measured along multiple dimensions, including, but not limited to, productivity, cost savings, internal and/or consumer satisfaction

  • Acts as subject matter expert and drives process improvement for suppliers under management

Data Analysis/Management:

  • Analyze company spend data and develop hypotheses and reasonable conclusions to assist department staff in strategic sourcing and vendor management

  • Compile, analyze and synthesize disparate sources of data to meet business objectives

  • Identify and troubleshoot root cause of data inconsistencies in department databases and various source systems

  • Become subject matter expert on multiple sources of data including accounts payable systems, procurement systems, and other sources of company information

Customer Service and Communication:

  • Able to clearly communicate in business terms with department staff and internal customers

  • Able to provide high level of customer service skill set, ability to listen to identify root cause, work with customer to resolve issue (flexibility and creativity is a key trait in this area)

  • Work extensively with internal business units and external partners which requires excellent relationship management, business analysis and communication skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Document and maintain end-user training materials

  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Finance, Legal, Process Engineering, Supply Chain Management. Two additional years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in data analysis and/or database design, preferably within a procurement setting.

  • 2 4 years of procurement, sourcing or supplier management experience

  • Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

  • Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management

  • Focus on process-orientation and have excellent attention to detail

  • Experience accomplishing evaluating RFI/RFP/RFQ, determining decision criteria, scoring vendor responses and recommending vendor selection

  • Able to identify root cause problem/issues and provide solutions/options support with fact based/data driven analysis.

  • Logical reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills/methodology

  • Able to formulate conclusions and recommend courses of action

  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Direct customer service experience is helpful

  • Able to balance and prioritize multiple high priority projects.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint required.
