Exponent's Biomedical Engineering Practice is currently hiring for an Senior Associate in our Menlo Park, CA office.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Managing and executing specific biomechanics, biomaterials, implant testing, and computer simulation projects related to orthopedic, spinal, cardiovascular, and diagnostic medical devices

  • Actively participating in Exponent's medical device consulting, including analyzing bone implant systems, testing implant materials and developing finite element simulations of medical devices

  • Performing technical evaluations, analysis, and testing on the behalf of multinational medical device companies for the FDA and consulting in intellectual property and product liability litigation

  • Publishing at conferences and in peer-reviewed literature and presenting at conferences

  • Assisting in marketing the group's technical capabilities to clients and the scientific community

  • Ability to develop additional expertise and gain additional industry exposure through our unique technical consulting services

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field

  • 2 years of post doctoral or industry experience in an engineering position is desirable

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with mechanical testing of implants, biomaterials, and animal/human tissue desirable

  • Demonstrated capabilities in the areas of analytical, computational and experimental mechanics

  • Research experience applicable to medical devices highly desirable

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of VR best practices, 3D modeling and graphics, and development experience with building VR or Mobile applications. You will have the opportunity to pioneer, develop and build out stunning immersive experiences for multiple VR platforms.</p><p><strong>Your responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Design and implement software components and products that render immersive experiences</li> <li>Design and implement the features to satisfy functional and non-functional requirements</li> <li>Partner with Design team, and lead the UX and UI areas for our applications</li> <li>Build the delightful user experiences with simple and intuitive navigation</li> <li>Get to shape how employees at companies of all sizes get trained using our products</li> </ul><p><strong>Your skills:</strong></p><ul> <li>5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years of application development experience on Android, iOS, or VR platforms (Oculus, HTC, etc.)</li> <li>Hands on experience with information architecture, navigation, responsive design, and interaction aspects of the application</li> <li>Attention to detail.
