A successful applicant will bring their data processing chops along with communication skills, and technical knowledge in support of the execution of the company's equity plan. The position is a direct report to the Controller.

Primary Responsibilities/Objective

  • Own the stock ledger and cap table for The Motley Fool Holdings Inc. by tracking ownership changes resulting from stock purchases, stock sells, and award and option grants

  • Create and distribute grant paperwork accurately and timely

  • Calculate income to be reported and withholding taxes for stock compensation

  • Communicate restricted stock award vesting information, etc. to shareholders and report to payroll for processing

  • Record monthly stock compensation to the general ledger

  • Assist with the semi-annual internal market where Fools can liquidate shares

  • Calculate and process dividends

  • Provide ad hoc reporting of ownership to various stakeholders including management, in-house counsel, FP&A department, compensation team, etc.

The ideal candidate is an energetic, creative thinker who enjoys problem solving through the use of data, scientific practices, interaction with the community, and collaboration with colleagues. This position works closely with epidemiology and population health colleagues. Job responsibilities also involve frequent engagement with community partners as well as interdepartmental work with nursing, population health, and environmental health staff. The position is responsible for carrying out a broad and moderately complex range of investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities in the City of Alexandria. Primary responsibilities are focused in three broad areas: population health research and reporting; communicable disease (CD) investigations; and internal multidiscpinary data support. Population Health Research and Reporting: monitors the health of the community through researching, identifying, mining, and developing data sources; analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data; identifying trends; writing reports; presenting findings. The incumbent provides technical epidemiology support to AHD, City agencies, and community partner organizations for their efforts related to community health. The position has a key role in data tracking, monitoring, and evaluation of the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan processes. The incumbent serves as AHD's lead expert on data visualization tools and methods. Communicable Disease Investigations: rotates responsibility with other epidemiologists for accurate, high quality communicable disease surveillance and investigation: monitoring and tracking reportable diseases, investigating outbreaks, and providing guidance to community members, organizations, and healthcare providers to prevent the spread of disease. Places special emphasis on trends in disease patterns. Incumbent will participate in district and regional communicable disease activities and may serve in the City of Alexandria Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergencies. Additionally, the incumbent will rotate responsibility for holding the 24/7 Epidemiology Duty Officer phone with other members of the epidemiology team. Internal multidisciplinary data support: Provides internal program support to AHD divisions (Clinical programs, Environmental Health, Public Health Emergency Management, Administration, Population Health). The position supports AHD divisions in monitoring and evaluating their goals through development of appropriate indicators, survey design and implementation; analysis and interpretation of program data, including survey results; production of reports; and presentation of data. *Key Requirements* Required to maintain a valid driver's license and adhere to VDH's driver safety policy. Must provide own transportation for participation in district and regional activities. Willing to attend some community meetings outside of normal working hours. Must be willing and able to work evenings/weekends for public health emergencies, events and incidents; to rotate the 24/7 Epidemiology Duty Officer phone with other Epidemiologists; and to perform other duties as required. Ability to understand, follow, and teach others about laws, regulations, and policies on disease reporting and control. Ability to research and mine population level data. Ability to apply research principles, develop and manage databases (e.g. MS Access, Redcap, Excel) and analyze and interpret statistical information using standard statistical software (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Stata). Ability to produce accurate, high quality data visualization, reports, and presentations. Interest and ability in using epidemiologic expertise and data skills to support implementation of internal quality improvement processes; provide subject matter expertise in health department population health initiatives, including the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan processes; and provide external consultation with community partners on population health projects.
