Position Summary

The Senior Associate Director, Prospect Management will partner with gift officers to manage prospects effectively by developing fundraising strategies that move prospects through the fundraising cycle and ensure optimal distribution of prospective donors to fundraiser portfolios. The senior associate director will be assigned to one or more schools or programs with complex advancement organizations. The senior associate director will manage, coach and mentor two to three Prospect Management Consultants. The senior associate director provides critical support in management, maintenance, and integrity of prospect data; advises gift officers and other staff on prospect management best practices and procedures; and focuses on application of insight to prospect, portfolio, and pipeline management. This position will report to the Senior Director of Prospect Management.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with gift officers from one or more schools and programs to manage prospects effectively by developing fundraising strategies that move prospects through the fundraising cycle and ensure optimal distribution of prospective donors to fundraiser portfolios.

  • Manage, coach, and mentor two to three Prospect Management Consultants.

  • Provide critical support in management, maintenance, and integrity of prospect data.

  • Liaise with prospect research team members as needed to deliver key information about managed prospects while building a broad and deep understanding of fundraising metrics to provide the information that supports the management of prospects through the development cycle.

  • Serve as a key advisor to gift officers in the creation, implementation, and management of the prospect management policy and business processes. In collaboration with Data Analytics, ensure that the best prospects are actively managed by front line fundraisers.

  • Regularly monitor fundraising activity/progress for continuity and compliance with the Prospect Management Guidelines. Provide analysis to advise leaders on fundraising performance and recommendations on cultivation and solicitation strategies and ask amounts.

  • Serve as an advisor for the prospect management module development as part of the Advancement IT Project.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management experience.

  • Familiarity with constituent databases (CRM systems/alumni and donor databases).

  • Experience working in fundraising.

  • Three to five years of experience in a prospect development or prospect management function or in a fundraising, nonprofit, or higher education setting.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Strong client service orientation.

  • Ability to train/coach clients on complex concepts and business practices.

  • Ability to compile, report, and analyze information from diverse sources.

  • Ability to understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and conceive strategic solutions.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgement when working with sensitive information.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Three to five years of related experience.

G13

Salary Range

$64,700.00 - $110,500.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
