Set and lead implementation of strategic and tactical priorities for the In Vivo Pharmacology group to achieve the Immunology & Respiratory (I&R) Therapeutic Area pipeline productivity and innovation deliverables. Contribute to design and execution of I&R portfolio strategy as member of Global I&R management team and as member of local I&R-Ridgefield leadership team. Responsible for talent acquisition and development of reports, including the coaching of project and scientific leaders within the In Vivo team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish and direct strategic and tactical priorities for In Vivo group in I&R-Ridgefield to achieve portfolio objectives. Accountable for the direction and execution of PK/TE/PD and disease-relevant models to drive project progression and portfolio decisions. Accountable for identifying, developing and implementing new technologies to support In Vivo and portfolio needs via internal and external means.

  • Seamless cross-functional working to progress departmental productivity and innovation initiatives and objectives, with focus on In Vivo deliverables. Represent Therapeutic Area on In Vivo topics in discussions with stakeholders and business partners to influence and advance I&R priorities and objectives.

  • Contribute to design and execution of I&R strategy through participation at RPC, Global I&R Joint Management Team and I&R-Ridgefield Leadership Team.

  • Be a strong and entrepreneurial scientific leader and use expertise to drive strong performance of group by recruiting, retaining and developing a high quality staff. Effectively drive high performance culture by direct and indirect reports.

  • Independently prepare, deliver and effectively communicate results in the form of reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders. Build a strong external reputation for BI by scientific publications and presentations at conferences/congresses.

  • Ensure compliance with all required training, safety, regulatory, HR and intellectual property activities and corporate policies.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or equivalent, with at least seven (7) years of related industry experience or equivalent.

  • Four to six (4-6) years leadership and project management experience

  • Management and leadership abilities and knowledge to bring together diverse skill sets to form a cohesive team.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment to accelerate strategic and project decision-making.

  • Subject matter expertise in the areas of PK/TE/PD and disease pharmacology linked to Immunology diseases.

  • Experience in cross-disciplinary stakeholder negotiation to drive portfolio and project results.

  • Requires advanced knowledge in the area of utilizing in vivo models to support advancement of drug discovery projects.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including cross-functional collaborative and communication skills.

  • Skills in proactive identification of critical issues associated with drug discovery projects and resolving these in a timely manner.

  • Ability to lead people and teams to achieve challenging objectives, which address key business priorities.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

This role is responsible for creating and managing the voice of the US Medical customer helping to define their needs through market research, analytics and hands on insights that will help to shape our US Medicine Digital Customer Engagement Strategy. The Sr. AD will work closely with both the US Digital Center of Excellence team and Global Medical counterparts to leverage existing customer insights to understand what is and is not working today and develop a plan on how to fill those gaps from both a research and experience perspective. Duties & Responsibilities: * Collaborates with Director, Digital Customer Engagement Lead to develop, execute and manage the roll-out of the US Medicine Digital Customer Engagement Strategy; including reporting on status and driving issue resolution. * Aligns US Medicine Digital Customer Engagement Strategy and execution with the Integrated Brand Plans/Integrated Customer Plans for BIPI to make sure we are meeting the needs of our customers. * Become a Digital Change ambassador driving thought leadership and best practices across topics that relates to the Medicine function. * Collaborate with Customer Experience team(s) on topics of medical website standards and best practices * Develop and engage a network of internal customers to achieve strategic objectives as outlined in strategic plans. * Explore opportunities to expose broader BI organization to Medicine Digital strategy, and build alignment on projects. * As necessary, recruit, train, develop and motivate digital staff and external partners. * Manage the US Medicine Digital website strategy and implementation. * Help coordinate website content and features with Medicine (all functional areas), Global, and Public Relations & Communications colleagues. * Partners with BI's Analytics & Insights team on reporting and analytics. * Conducts competitive research on emerging technology and capabilities to develop medical website strategy * Ensure feedback and assessment of the implemented tools and approaches for improvement and/or decision making based on pre-defined metrics and parameters. * Ensure that solutions identified maximize efficiencies and identify opportunities for improvement * Participates in identification and development of new capabilities required to build a Medical Digital competency within BIPI. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required; Master's degree from an accredited institution is preferred. * A medical education background and/or work experience in the area of digital strategy/customer engagement is also strongly preferred. * Minimum ten (10) years of experience in digital technologies, customer engagement, key players, and application within pharmaceutical industry. * Five (5) years of team leadership experience. * Strong understanding of network in US customer environment, to enable execution of Medicine Digital projects within those environments. * Knowledge of US healthcare industry trends. * Experience managing large-scale cross-functional projects with proven experience and a strong understanding of what it takes to succeed in project management and ability to oversee multiple projects running simultaneously. * Demonstrated relationship building and leadership skills in a matrix environment. * Excellent judgment – regarding the "how", "what", and "when" of addressing cross-functional partners and key stakeholders with sensitive issues. * Demonstrated excellence in analytical and problem solving skills. * Highly developed communication (written and verbal) skills and interpersonal ability. * Negotiation skills. * Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization. * Demonstrated ability to influencing others. * Demonstrated understanding of Medical Digital technologies, key players, and application within pharmaceutical industry. * Strong working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, processes and procedures - including regulatory, legal, compliance, clinical operations and medical. * Experience with organization processes related to Medical Affairs operations. * Familiar with all applicable regulations, and industry standards as related to interactions within the pharmaceutical industry * This role will need to be able to translate complex scientific materials into communications and experiences that our customers want to engage with. To accomplish this, this role will need proven experience developing complex customer journey's and the know how to execute across those journeys from a multi-disciplinary standpoint (technical, strategic, analytical and creative).
