Set and lead implementation of strategic and tactical priorities for the In Vivo Pharmacology group to achieve the Immunology & Respiratory (I&R) Therapeutic Area pipeline productivity and innovation deliverables. Contribute to design and execution of I&R portfolio strategy as member of Global I&R management team and as member of local I&R-Ridgefield leadership team. Responsible for talent acquisition and development of reports, including the coaching of project and scientific leaders within the In Vivo team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Establish and direct strategic and tactical priorities for In Vivo group in I&R-Ridgefield to achieve portfolio objectives. Accountable for the direction and execution of PK/TE/PD and disease-relevant models to drive project progression and portfolio decisions. Accountable for identifying, developing and implementing new technologies to support In Vivo and portfolio needs via internal and external means.
Seamless cross-functional working to progress departmental productivity and innovation initiatives and objectives, with focus on In Vivo deliverables. Represent Therapeutic Area on In Vivo topics in discussions with stakeholders and business partners to influence and advance I&R priorities and objectives.
Contribute to design and execution of I&R strategy through participation at RPC, Global I&R Joint Management Team and I&R-Ridgefield Leadership Team.
Be a strong and entrepreneurial scientific leader and use expertise to drive strong performance of group by recruiting, retaining and developing a high quality staff. Effectively drive high performance culture by direct and indirect reports.
Independently prepare, deliver and effectively communicate results in the form of reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders. Build a strong external reputation for BI by scientific publications and presentations at conferences/congresses.
Ensure compliance with all required training, safety, regulatory, HR and intellectual property activities and corporate policies.
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or equivalent, with at least seven (7) years of related industry experience or equivalent.
Four to six (4-6) years leadership and project management experience
Management and leadership abilities and knowledge to bring together diverse skill sets to form a cohesive team.
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment to accelerate strategic and project decision-making.
Subject matter expertise in the areas of PK/TE/PD and disease pharmacology linked to Immunology diseases.
Experience in cross-disciplinary stakeholder negotiation to drive portfolio and project results.
Requires advanced knowledge in the area of utilizing in vivo models to support advancement of drug discovery projects.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including cross-functional collaborative and communication skills.
Skills in proactive identification of critical issues associated with drug discovery projects and resolving these in a timely manner.
Ability to lead people and teams to achieve challenging objectives, which address key business priorities.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
