Our UTC Aerospace Systems Customer Service organization is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Claims Administrator to work within our Customer Management team. Our goal is to improve the customer experience related to claims administration and adjudication within UTC Aerospace Systems.

The Claims team works internally to collect, consolidate, validate and ensure quality feedback to our customer facing Performance Program Managers / Customer Support Managers. In addition, we make sure contract terms are consistently applied across the businesses and that our customers have advocates to help them resolve their claims related issues.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Collection, consolidation and validation of feedback required by UTC Aerospace Systems customer facing team to properly resolve claims

  • Claims issue identification and resolution in support of UTC Aerospace Systems customer facing team

  • Claims data entry and tracking necessary for claim processing and metrics reporting

  • SharePoint administrator for the Claims team

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and teaching related to claims process materials and standard work

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To analyze reported lower-level general liability claims to determine benefits due; and to ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within company standards and industry best practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES * Adjusts injury claims under close supervision. * Supports other claims representatives, examiners and leads with larger or more complex claims as necessary. * Processes general liability claims by gathering information to determine liability exposure, assigns reserve values to claims, making claims payments as necessary, and settling claims up to the designated authority level. * Processes assigned claims and determines benefits due pursuant to the client contract; makes timely claims payments and adjustments. * Communicates claim action/processing with claimant, client and appropriate medical contact. * Ensures claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct. * May process routine payments and prescriptions and status reports for lifetime medical claims and/or defined period medical claims. * Maintains professional client relationships. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs other duties as assigned. * Supports the organization's quality program(s). QUALIFICATION Education & Licensing High school diploma or GED required. Resident License Required in NC or SC Experience One (1) year of general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Claims industry experience preferred. Licenses as required. Skills & Knowledge * Knowledge of Social Security and Medicare application procedure as applicable to line of business * Excellent oral and written communication skills * PC literate, including Microsoft Office products * Analytical and interpretive skills * Strong organizational skills * Good interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a team environment * Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies WORK ENVIRONMENT When applicable and appropriate, consideration will be given to reasonable accommodations.
