Senior Associate, Investments
As part of the Investments Group and transactional legal team, provide counseling to fellow investment group members on all legal aspects of real estate transactions across all commercial sectors.
Negotiate and monitor the negotiations of all documents related to the acquisition, disposition, financing, and development of real estate projects, including, without limitation, joint venture agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and financing documents.
Monitor outside counsel on legal due diligence and advise on investment decisions.
Participate in meetings and communicate with internal investment, portfolio company, asset management, fund compliance, financing and development teams and coordinate with outside counsel on all aspects of the applicable transaction.
Supervise performance of outside counsel ensuring that costs are kept to a minimum and core information is maintained internally.
Coordinate with tax team and outside counsel in connection with internal restructurings, REIT
compliance and other tax related matters.
Coordinate with outside counsel on review of non-disclosure agreements for all acquisitions and dispositions.
Work internally with investment group in legal documentation relating to brokers, advisors and due diligence consultants.
Technical Skills and Other:
4-5 years' experience at a major law firm, real estate law preferred
Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
Pragmatic, pro-active and organized
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage many matters at once
Accomplished, business-oriented lawyer
Graduate of ABA Accredited Law School with strong academic credentials
