Supports operational groups and project teams and customers in the areas of physical security, loss prevention, awareness training, investigations, integrity audits and product claims prevention and mitigation. Provides handling, documentation, and mitigation of operations related claims in conjunction with the operational teams responsible for expenses related to losses. Supports project teams in the planning and execution of asset protection strategies. Ensures organization policies are being followed in accordance with Lineage policy, insurance coverage, legislation and regulations.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support operational groups and project teams in protecting company assets through compliance with Lineage standards, policies and procedures.

  • Conduct reviews of facilities, statistical data, and other evidence to identify potential exposure and active issues relating to the protection of company assets including team members, customer products, and other property.

  • Capture data related to potential claims of overages, shortages, and damages of customer products and unexpected fees.

  • Investigate product claims made by or on behalf of customers, shippers and consignees.

  • Collect evidence related to the handling of cargo including documents, images, and verbal communication for use in the resolution of claims.

  • Maintain records of claims, associated documents, evidence, and dispositions.

  • Work closely with logistics, warehouse operations, business partners, and customers to communicate findings and determine appropriate dispositions.

  • Take after-hours calls to assist operational groups, business partners, drivers and customers with issues related to product shipments and potential losses.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • 3 years perishable commodity cargo claims experience or the equivalent length of time in customer service within the Asset Protection and/or transportation industry

  • Carmack Amendment knowledge strongly preferred

  • Certified Claims Processor (CCP) preferred

  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.

Assist with reduction of lost inventory, time, and assets, monitor surveillance equipment and partner with the district asset protection (AP) manager in the implementation and oversight of AP initiatives. Identify, observe and apprehend shoplifters and others (internal or external) involved in criminal activity impacting the company. Essential Job Functions: * Conduct plainclothes surveillance to detect internal and external loss within a store environment * Conduct internal and external investigations and report findings to appropriate stakeholders; apprehend individuals involved in illegal acts * Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures, when carrying out responsibilities * Conduct physical security checks; make recommendations to prevent loss and improve profitability * Partner with law enforcement and prepare case reports for criminal prosecution * Identify and resolve conditions/behaviors that affect shrink, safety and profitability by auditing for compliance and communicating AP awareness * Serve as a district and division liaison to identify and develop solutions to reduce waste * Complete thorough reports on all AP related activities * Support the district asset protection manager (APM) in execution of AP initiatives * Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of AP strategies at store level * Assist the district APM with external and internal investigations * Testify in court and labor hearings on behalf of the company * Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures * Test functionality of store AP equipment (EAS, Lane Hawk, CCTV, etc.) during store visits * Travel to locations throughout the division and maintain ability to work a varied schedule and on weekends * Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation Minimum Position Qualifications/Education: * High school diploma or GED * Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity, honesty and professionalism * Strong written and oral communication skills * Good customer service skills * Ability to diffuse confrontational situations Desired Previous Job Experience/Certification: * 1+ years retail asset protection experience * Operational knowledge of CCTV systems * Multi store asset protection experience * College degree * Wicklander certification Leadership Behaviors: Achieves Results through Teamwork, Coaches and Develops Others, Communicates Effectively and Candidly, Executes with Excellence, Leads Change and Innovation, Leads through Positive Influence, Provides Clear and Strategic Direction, Puts the Customer First.
