As an Asset Manager, you will:

A week in the life of our Asset Manager:

  • Lead logistics and asset management at a Government-owned/Contractor-operated facility in Northern Virginia that hosts test events for a suite of Electronic Healthcare Record applications.

  • Apply your knowledge of DPAS asset management requirements, Federal Supply System, and automated and manual supply systems as well as equipment serviceability standards and criteria.

  • Manage shipping and receiving of materials to include inventory, quality checking, documenting, communicating with shipment stakeholders

  • Analyze incoming shipments against packing slips, invoices/purchase orders and report on complete, incomplete or damaged items per documented procedures

  • Support the procurement and renewal process for assets and software within the program and for the government (knowledge of RVDC process a plus).

  • Prepare documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked.

  • Apply your experience with one or more DPAS-compliant asset management toolsets.

  • Use a DPAS-compliant toolset to provide support for all software and hardware assets including sustainability, reliability, maintainability, and availability of the system's components for both.

  • Use a DPAS-compliant toolsets to support software license management.

  • Determine maintenance and repair materials and standards required for deployment.

  • Develop requisitions for and manage records of equipment, components, repair parts, and related manuals; track logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities; review configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment; document equipment, component and parts conditions; and identify logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support lifecycle of products.

  • Analyze, organize, plan, and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more programs.

  • Review and take action as needed on contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports. Identify, prioritize, and assess key logistics, assets, and infrastructures.

  • Control inventory of all parts (in use or spare) to provide maximum uptime on all equipment.

  • Ensure that inventories are complete and accurate, cover hardware, software, and furnshings; are consistent with DPAS requirements; and reported (quarterly and annually) to Property Book managers in a timely manner.

  • Perform DRMO (Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office) activities for retired assets.

Job Requirements

  • Public Trust Clearance, U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

  • Onsite presence M-F at facility in Chantilly, VA.

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in IT-oriented facility asset management skillsets.

  • Understanding of DPAS asset management requirements.

  • Understanding and experience with service desk software.

  • Understanding and experience with Software Asset Management (SAM).

  • Understanding and experience with Asset Lifecycle Management.

  • Ability to educate, mentor, and motivate teammates on Asset Lifecycle Management.

  • Ability to delegate and guide work as needed.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in order to accomplish goals on a given timeline.

  • Ability to distinguish among the variety of IT licensing models; preferred to be able to ascertain general benefits and risks of each.

  • Attention to details, ongoing commitment to clearly identify discrepancies, and effectively use proper procedures to communicate them to stakeholders.

  • Ability to pivot and be flexible in an ever-changing environment.

  • Ability to lead or support DRMO efforts; or ability to quickly learn the process and effectively contribute to it.

  • Ability to use one or more DPAS-compliant tools to accomplish the duties described above.

  • Ability to complete tasks on time while occasionally working among distractions.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $110,000 - 120,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
