Senior Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Senior Architect designs and manages midsized to large, sometimes complex projects and may oversee a team of Architects and technicians. This position reports to the two Principals of Woodward Design Group

• The Senior Architect validates Owner's program requirements, including expectations for quality, price, and schedule.

• The Senior Architect develops a design schedule and tracks its milestones.

• Performs or coordinates documented zoning and code analysis which is periodically updated during the design process.

• Leads the coordination of activities of all professional disciplines assigned to the project as well as technical information from vendors and owners.

• The Senior Architect leads the conceptual and schematic design efforts, as well as a narrative of building systems, based on validated program and other pertinent information.

• After obtaining Owner approval, leads the design development and construction document preparation, maintaining the flow of information to assure final documents accurately reflect the contract scope and design intent.

• Leads the construction administration: processing submittals, RFI responses, periodic site observation to ensure that design intent, quality, and owner expectations are met, and monitoring proposed changes.

• Leads or oversees coordination of permitting activities including written responses to all review comments.

• The Senior Architect tracks and updates monthly project financial reports when requested by the Principals of Woodward Design Group.

• The Senior Architect leads close out activities, including punch lists, required certifications, and review and turnover of record documents.

• Ability to perform job duties by following WDB's core values (Reliability, Courage, Teamwork, Determination, and Humility)

SKILLS:

• Proficiency in Revit software

• Excellent design and communication skills

• Self-motivated team player with attention to detail

• Constantly strives for excellence in service and deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an NAAB accredited University

• Must be licensed by and in good standing with the state Board of Architectural Examiners.

• Current certification by the National Council of Architects Registration Boards (NCARB) strongly preferred.

• Conforms to the rules and ethics of the architectural licensing board of the state of jurisdiction (LSBAE in Louisiana)
