Huitt-Zollars, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Senior Architect to serve as Managing Vice President for our expanding office in downtown Los Angeles. The successful candidate will assume the title of Vice President in the firm and be responsible for leading, developing, and growing the office. Measures of his or her success will include profit/loss of the operation, market positioning, and client retention. The office will become a consolidation of operations of our current office in West Los Angeles, which is focused on the Healthcare and Higher Education market sectors, and Glendale, which is focused on Hospitality and Entertainment. We intend to grow our successful architectural practices in Southern California, as well as add new market capabilities and services, including engineering. In addition to our primarily architectural office in downtown Los Angeles, the firm maintains primarily engineering offices in Thousand Oaks, Ontario, and Irvine.


  • Supervising the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the office, all studios

  • Responsibility for profit and loss, budget management, and revenue generation

  • Meeting and maintaining relationships with local clients of the firm's services, including public sector entities

  • Leading office delivery of projects and services

  • Managing selected projects and supervising the management of all projects in the office

  • Preparing statement of qualifications and letters of interest for individual pursuits

  • Preparing proposals and negotiating contracts


  • Bachelor of Architecture

  • Must be licensed as a professional Architect in California

  • Minimum 10 years of design experience, with an additional seven years of staff supervisory and project management experience

  • Proven ability to market clients and secure contracts is a must

  • Proven ability to manage people

  • Track record of superior client service in local market

  • An inclusive, collaborative leadership style

  • Proven communication skills written, verbal, presentation

  • Ability to pro-actively develop and deliver strategy and growth

  • Results orientation together with highly developed client service capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver positive outcomes on projects

Senior Vice President - Sponsor Finance Summary: This position is the most Senior level business developer and relationship manager focused on developing relationships with Private Equity Group clients. The MD, Commercial Relationship Manager will develop, market and administer loans, deposits and cross sell related banking accounts and services. Supervises support employees and leads less experienced loan officers. Provides significant input into the overall goals, objectives, and budgets, and manages performance against goals. The position is part of a nationwide platform and travel is required. General Responsibilities: * Partners with department leadership or executive leadership to set and execute strategy. * Plans, develops and pursues an active customer call program in order to attract new banking relationships. * Assists other relationship managers in their efforts to obtain new business and retain existing relationships for the bank. * Develops and maintains the Banks relationships with contacts, customers and sponsors to maintain and expand business. * Makes regular calls on potential clients in order to generate high quality new loan, deposit, and fee business to achieve or exceed specific production goals. * Plans portfolio growth through the development of a business plan in alignment with departmental budget and consistent with overall Bank asset/liability management objectives. * Meets with customers through personal calling efforts, referrals and other contacts to discuss business needs and recommend ways in which the bank can serve their needs. * Maintains up-to-date knowledge of competitors' products and pricing in the market served. * Responsible for the proper pre-qualification, structuring, pricing, and exception-free closing. * Analyzes requests and associated financial data to determine if the loan meets acceptable risk standards. * Works with borrowing customers to procure updated financial information on an ongoing basis. * Works with the Underwriting unit in developing analytical work-ups on credits.
