Job Summary

AECOM NY Metro Buildings + Places is expanding its educational studio in our Clifton, New Jersey office. The individual in this position is intended to work with the Educational Studio Leader in the following efforts:

  • Delivery of K12 and Higher Education projects per AECOM project delivery system and quality procedures, on time and on budget

  • Coordination of in-house training and implementation in support of multi-disciplinary implementation of educational projects

  • Assist in the resolution of critical design and contract issues as they arise during production or during construction together with the internal and external technical staff and leadership.

  • Interfacing with internal staff in order to facilitate understanding of market specific requirements for integration of those standards into project work plans

  • Communication with all disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler, electrical, civil, construction management, structural, design and high performance studios

  • Understanding and helping to facilitate office understanding and implementation of BIM workflow, process and content standards for this market

  • Training and management of the development of project work plans for multiple projects of various sizes

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors in Architecture

  • 10+ years' experience and background in programming, design and implementation of best practices in the education market sector

  • New Jersey specific experience in K12 projects

  • Proven ability to support staff members working in educational (K12 and Higher Ed) projects with market specific expertise

  • The ability to write and edit technical specifications

  • Ability to coordinate the documentation of multiple disciplines

  • Knowledge of New Jersey public bid law as it applies to schools and universities

  • Excellent communications skills, and the ability to document and present procedures, workflows, and capabilities to a broad audience including technical and non-technical personnel

  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans for new building and renovation projects

  • Strong presentation and relationship skills to develop and retain new/existing clients

  • Team building and collaboration skills

  • Ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • New Jersey specific experience in Higher Educational projects

  • Field administration experience on public projects in NJ

Essential Functions: * Provides systems engineering expertise, focusing on security, cryptography, and information assurance requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and verification * Lead a team of engineers to bring a complex product through security certification with government evaluators * Evaluate, specify, flow-down, and architect security requirements with respect to other functional and performance requirements on a product * Work with other engineering disciplines to implement and verify security technology * Act as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree and 4+ years of engineering experience Preferred Qualifications: * An active DoD Secret security clearance * Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science * Experience developing and executing system test procedures * Understanding of FPGA simulation process and how it can be used to verify functionality * Understanding and ability to read VHDL, C, C++, and C# code * Experience writing software to automate tasks, such as data processing, encryption, etc. * Experience with Type-1 certification process * Strong understanding of DoD PKI * Hands-on knowledge of IPsec configuration with Windows and Linux PCs * 5+ years of Information Assurance (IA) experience * Experience with both IA and AT certification requirements * Experience writing IA design and verification documents and procedures * Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward) Security Clearance: Please be aware that this position requires the ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
