Job Description and Duties
Under general direction from the Area Administrator within the Division of Apprenticeship Standards, the Sr. Apprenticeship Consultant is responsible for providing technical assistance, guidance to staff who support apprenticeship, and on-the-job training programs while serving as a source of information to workers, employers, their representatives, and the general public regarding Apprenticeship, Pre-Apprenticeship and On-The-job training programs.
Duties include, but not limited to the following: Develop and consult with Apprenticeship and "On-The-Job" training programs, provide guidance on compliance with state and federal apprenticeship laws and regulations, conduct program reviews, attend apprenticeship program meetings, public meetings, job fairs and outreach events.
This position requires the incumbent to maintain acceptable, consistent and regular attendance at such level as is determined at the Department's sole discretion; Communicate effectively (orally and in writing if both appropriate) in dealing with the public and/or other employees; Develop and maintain knowledge and skill related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; Complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct. Must be regularly available and willing to work the hours the department determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Working Conditions
This position is located at 320 W. Fourth Street, RM 950, Los Angeles CA 90013
The incumbent works 40 hours per week part time in an office setting, part time traveling in transient, and part time working from a home office. Indoor cubicle office environment for several hours a day. Involves being in a stationary position most of the time. Work remotely at community business partners locations.

The Senior Apprenticeship Consultant will be responsible for overseeing the workload and the managing of a local DAS office staff. Please describe your experience in performing similar tasks.
Describe your experience being a manager and leading teams effectively.
Describe your experience defining and interpreting laws and regulations to others to assure compliance.
