Raytheon is seeking a talented System Engineer to support the Systems Engineering team within our Digital Technologies Engineering Solutions organization. This role is responsible for the researching, piloting, & delivering Systems and Whole Life Engineering tools, automated solutions and best practices in support of the Raytheon SAS Engineering Solutions Systems Engineering (SE) team, which supports the requirements management, architecture, math & analysis, modeling & simulations, IV&V, and specialty engineering capabilities.

The candidate must be an effective communicator with a successful track record of technical leadership. The candidate should have an excellent working knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and applications, and have the ability to insert and integrate applications into programs. The duties of this job include but are not limited to:

  • Support Raytheon Technologies engineering teams in adopting and efficiently utilizing strategic tools & processes

  • Build relationships with lead Systems engineers across the Raytheon businesses to develop and deliver integrated engineering solutions and services

  • Participate in (and lead where appropriate) corporate engineering improvement initiatives

  • Champion the deployment of new and existing integrated Systems Engineering solutions, and consult with programs on the implementation

  • Identify, document, and champion engineering automation best practices and improvements which help engineers be more productive

  • Engage strategic vendors for Systems Engineering technology evaluations and improvements which will address Raytheon needs

  • Act as stakeholder for daily team SCRUM meetings, ensuring that team priorities are correct and impediments are quickly removed

  • Proactively manage priorities and organize work schedule in a dynamic, interrupt driven environment

Requires the aptitude to:

  • Apply extensive technical expertise in Systems Engineering

  • Full knowledge of other related disciplines

  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity

  • Work without appreciable direction

  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment

  • Guide the successful completion of major programs and function in a project leadership role

  • Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects

  • Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations

Required Skills:

  • 5 years' experience in the application of engineering tools/solutions in two or more of the following Systems and Software Engineering capability areas: Architecture/Modeling, Math & Analysis, Modeling & Simulation, Model Based Systems Engineering, Integrated Software Development Design, & Advanced Analysis & Test

  • Experience with Agile or Model Based Engineering practices, tools, and methods

  • Knowledge of at least three of the following systems engineering functions:

  • Requirements development and management,

  • architecture,

  • system design,

  • interface definition and control,

  • integration and test,

  • whole life engineering

  • Experience with Linux and AWS DevCloud server deployments

  • Experience working in a multi-site Enterprise environment including facilitating cross organizational solutions in response to diverse objectives

  • Self-directed with demonstrated ability to organize and provide technical leadership for a diverse (both geographic and technical) team

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools, particularly Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills including presentation and negotiation skills, preparing management level briefings and summary explanations

Desired Skills:

  • 5 years Program experience in roles of increasing technical leadership and responsibility

  • Detailed working knowledge (including day to day use on a program) of Requirements Management, Architecture/Modeling & Design, and IV&V Tools (e.g. DOORS, Rational Team Concert, Rational Quality Manager, Rational Rhapsody)

  • In-depth understanding of data center and cloud based hosting architectures

  • Systems, Software, and IV&V Engineering Processes and Integrated Product Development Process (IPDP), best practices, and work instructions expertise

Required Education: Bachelors Degree and 5 years relevant experience

Clearance Requirements:

Must be a U.S. CITIZEN with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
