POSITION DETAILS:
Under general supervision, Senior Applications Specialist works primarily with Skyward Student and Skyward HR databases and systems to complete timely and effective assembly and submission of required State and Federal reports. The Senior Applications Specialist provides a broad range of technical and administrative data support to schools, other MCCSC departments and external partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Educational Requirements: Minimum high school diploma. Postsecondary preferred.
B. Skills and Knowledge: Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques. Ability to train staff. Knowledge of advanced word processing and spreadsheet techniques and methods. Experience in a K-12 school environment.
C. Experience: Workplace Experience in a K-12 school environment. Experience with data processing and information systems. Experience with a Student Information System in a K-12 environment preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates and provides support for Student/Financial Management Systems.
Helps design and coordinate scheduling for courses, grade book and state reporting purposes, in coordination with school personnel.
Extracts and reports various assigned Department of Education and federal reporting.
Oversees and insures data integrity.
Provides orientation and ongoing training to employees on administrative application systems.
Documents common workflow processes in system operations, including Skyward Student and Skyward Financial and posts on Help Desk guide.
Collaborates with Student Information System vendor to implement State Reporting changes.
Identifies duplication of work and provides strategies for improving efficiency.
Remains current by regularly attending workshops, seminars and other training sessions.
Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
TERMS:
238 days per year; 1.00 FTE; salary commensurate with experience; health, dental, life insurance, and matching annuity
