The Opportunity | Senior Applications Engineer
The Senior Applications Engineer identifies, assesses, and evaluates moderately complex product/service solutions requiring a blend of strong technical customer support, CISCO IOS experience configuring routers and switches, and technical skills. Coordinates resolution of product/service issues and upgrades. Interacts with management at customer site to assess major business processes and address product/service needs. With a wide range of knowledge, the application engineer participates in the overall sales process, pre-sales through post-sales support. The application engineer participates in sales presentation activities and develops and delivers presentations to customer's management.
Develops specifications for product/service applications as well as performance requirements.
Provide system cost estimates that reflect the organization/clients current ability to purchase, design and build, and helps writes the descriptive document that adequately describes the scope of the proposed system to the customer and to the engineering and project team members.
Participates in joint development of system concepts with appropriate members from engineering division.
Assists engineers and other technical staff in design and development of products, systems, processes and equipment by analyzing technical problems and working closely to customer specifications.
Travels to the customer's site to assist in project or product development, working with engineering design specifications, objectives and standards.
Coordinates training sessions, seminars, and continuing education to stay abreast of new technical developments.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineer
3+ years' experience in engineering within an embedded systems environment
Experience working with customers in a pre-sale and post-sales experience
VX works and other RTOS and general networking experience
Network security including security erase
Network performance and simulation
Hypervisors and virtual machines
Linux and Windows OS
SDN and Cloud Orchestration
Printer circuit design and debug
