This position serves as a Senior Applications Developer/Analyst coordinating the development of major revision of complex system projects. In this role you will oversee and advise Junior Developers on the analysis, development, coding, testing and documenting of complex projects dealing with offender and juvenile management applications, programs, and systems. In addition, you will review existing systems to evaluate the advantages and limitations of new software technology implementation. Job Responsibilities

30% Under administrative direction, serves as a Senior Applications Developer/Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology, supporting the Department of Corrections:

  • Performs complex and difficult technical and advisory functions in the analysis and evaluation of computer systems.

  • Coordinates the development of major revision of complex system projects.

  • Participates in the development and coding of computer programs.

  • Coordinates the activities of other project team members.

  • Coordinates the development of program flow charts, program specifications, audit trails, edits, control procedures, programming specifications and reviews the development coding of computer programs and systems.

25% Oversees and advises Junior Developers on the analysis, development, coding, testing and documenting of complex projects dealing with offender and juvenile management applications, programs, and systems, using Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services & Entity Framework, JavaScript, .Net, C#, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics CRM

15% Reviews existing systems to evaluate the advantages and limitations to new software technology implementation:

  • Develops and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the effectiveness of existing applications

10% Participates in planning and conducting technical training programs and subject matter seminars on appropriate areas of application development

10% Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field:

  • Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and maintain current on IT products, vendors, techniques and procedures.

  • Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations.

5% Conducts and participates in coordinating a comprehensive systems project study of inter-departmental functions, schedules, and operations.

5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Specialized Skills

1.Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Application Development utilizing C#, Visual Studio, .Net, Entity Framework, SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, and Azure DevOps.

2.Requires three (3) years of professional experience utilizing Entity Framework Core, Blazor, Bootstrap, Power BI, and SQL Server.

3.Requires three (3) years of professional experience working on a development team utilizing Agile and DevOps methodology.

4.Requires three (3) years of professional experience analyzing specifications and design logic to produce, test, debug, and deploy C# code with .net and Visual Studio to Azure DevOps.

Minimum Qualifications

1.Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.

2.Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.

Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)

1.Three (3) years of professional experience in Application Development utilizing C#, Visual Studio, .Net, Entity Framework, SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, and Azure DevOps.

2.Three (3) years of professional experience utilizing Entity Framework Core, Blazor, Bootstrap, Power BI, and SQL Server.

3.Three (3) years of professional experience working on a development team utilizing Agile and DevOps methodology.

4.Three (3) years of professional experience analyzing specifications and design logic to produce, test, debug, and deploy C# code with .net and Visual Studio to Azure DevOps.

5.Three (3) years of professional experience utilizing .Net to program customizations for Microsoft CRM Dynamics 365

6.Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgement in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.

7.Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients and others.

8.Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
