GDIT is currently looking for a Senior Application Developer for a Defense Threat Reduction Agency Data Science project.

Our work depends on Senior Application Developer joining our team to directs the development team in the design, coding, testing and debugging of transitional prototypes that enable CWMD/counterproliferation operations. Guides team members in application development methodology.

This position is not yet funded.

Senior Application Developer Duties:

  • Tests, writes, modifies, and documents software for client applications according to their requirements.

  • Coordinates the team's schedule and ensures effective communication between team members and other functional areas.

  • Provides feedback and suggestions for process and product improvement and acts as a technical mentor and adviser.

  • Adheres to stringent quality assurance and documentation standards using version control and code repositories (e.g., GitLab).

  • High-level expertise in an open source language (e.g. JavaScript. NodeJS, Angular).

  • Demonstrates written and oral communication skills.


  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, and at least 7 years' experience in management of application development programs and projects; or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related, and at least 10 years' of management experience.

  • Current TS/SCI clearance.

  • Location: Ft. Belvoir with some telecommuting flexibility.

Bowhead will provide the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) with technical and professional support elements required for the operation of the HPCMP Office (HPCMPO) in all phases of planning and execution of its mission, including: technical and administrative support in all areas of program activity, program management support, meeting facilities and office environment, to include a complete telecommunications and computer systems capability and full logistical services.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Provides technical expertise in design of databases.</p></li><li><p>Translate application requirements to fully functional software solutions for the end-user.
