Join us at a pivotal point in our journey to build the future insight and knowledge generation platform for the life sciences industry. We are looking for a Senior Application Scientist to partner with our sales team.

As an experienced Application Scientist, you will use your in-depth knowledge of Biology and/or Microbiology and bioinformatics to engage with our customers about their work. By developing a deep understanding of their requirements, you will be able to create a compelling case that demonstrates how our platform can enable them to digitally reinvent their biological research activities.


Provide scientific domain knowledge and product support to the sales process

  • Work closely with customers in identifying solution requirements
  • Partner with sales and marketing to assemble and deliver gold standard demonstration experiences for Eagles clients and partners
  • Execute proof of concept/value engagement with customers at both a technical and business level to show the value of our products
  • Provide technical input for proposals, Statements of Work (SOW), RFP/RFQs, coordinating with the engineering team as required
  • Work seamlessly with our Solution Architects to ensure alignment of proposals/statements of work, delivery capabilities and our product roadmap
  • Help improve the technical knowledge of our sales team, coaching them on new product developments
  • Have an excellent understanding of our product roadmap and the ability to translate that understanding to customers and feedback
  • Create and deliver a world class repository of demonstration materials, including online and off-line communications and system demonstration scripts and presentations to accelerate Eagles sales process
  • Develop, maintain and utilise a standardised proposal documentation database

Industry Expertise and Market Intelligence

  • Input into our product roadmap by working closely with our product management, marketing and sales teams to collect and digest user requirements and feedback
  • Create summaries and present key information to Eagle teams as necessary for strategic review and to expand team knowledge
  • Contribute to and maintain competitor knowledge as required
  • Contribute thought leadership articles and presentations
  • Present at industry and company meetings as required

Third Party Alliances

  • Assist in working with third party organisations such as agencies and complementary solution providers to develop mutual benefit partnerships
  • Become familiar with and understand key integration points and technology for adjacent application areas.



  • Minimum Masters level education in Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Bioinformatics or Life Sciences related field or equivalent experience
  • Significant demonstrable experience as a Field Application Scientist or similar role based within a sales or business development team
  • Demonstrable success in proactively developing new business relationships in partnership with a sales team
  • Demonstrable success of building durable customer relationships
  • Good working knowledge of scientific discovery, research and bioinformatics practices, processes and challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to simply and clearly communicate technical design in conversation, documentation and presentation
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to make effective decisions within fast-moving delivery
  • Active participation in knowledge sharing activities
  • Experience of proactively developing business across an account with sales and account managers
  • Ability to prioritise your time across multiple major projects


  • PhD in Microbiology
  • Experience of working in a SaaS organisation
  • Experience of working within the Biotech sector
