As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for working directly with customers to discover their needs, review project and process requirements, and understand industry specific standards. You will then utilize your experience and knowledge to make product(s) selections that meets the needs of our customers. This role supports the sales team on all technical aspects of our product portfolio and their operation parameters.

An excellent Senior Application Engineer will possess an extensive understanding of fluid dynamics, fluid management hardware, industrial controls, and FDA & ISO industry standards. This role is expected to be an industry consultant by having in-depth knowledge of the customer's applications so they can anticipate unspoken problems and uncover novel solutions. The Senior Applications Engineer should be able to utilize their excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain the difference between our solutions and competitive solutions. As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will have the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a self-managed team environment making frequent decisions around work prioritization and time allocation.

This position will include some travel to customer facilities to review and discuss applications.

What you'll be doing

• Serve as hands-on, technical lead in the selection of products for customer applications with minimal oversight.

• Design and document custom pump solutions by constructing solid models, assemblies, and drawings with SolidWorks.

• Perform Installation and Operation Qualifications (IQ/OQ) at customer locations.

• Work with internal and external manufacturing partners to ensure proper product design and delivery.

• Contribute and lead peer-to-peer design reviews for automated filling systems.

• Prepare engineering change orders and documentation.

• Work cross-functionally to address field issues and defects to determine root-cause and implement corrective actions as necessary.

• Serve as the mentor and lead to the Life Science Engineering Team.

• Some domestic and international travel is required (up to 30%).

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required with 4 years related product and market experience, including 2 years in a GMP biomanufacturing environment.

• Experience with FDA and ISO standards a plus.

• Experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems.

• Ability to resolve problems independently and take appropriate action in a timely manner.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills required to communicate with internal and external resources.

• Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Functional knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software Microsoft Dynamics AX experience a plus.

• Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed.
