JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Application Analyst has primary responsibility to independently lead efforts of self and others for analysis, build, testing, validation, problem resolution and ongoing support of IT applications. Responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of software functionality, and acquiring knowledge of the operational department representatives to function as a proactive consultant for IS, vendors and business partners.

Trains and mentor's others. Integrates their current knowledge of professional practice standards, as well as industry rules and regulations, ensuring that IT solutions are compliant with regulatory requirements. The Senior Application Analyst works with customers across interdisciplinary workgroups using technical knowledge and a system based approach to system design to support the organization's mission and strategic initiatives while promoting patient safety and positive patient outcomes.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree required. (Current employees who were hired or transitioned into this position before Mar 1, 2019 are grandfathered using the educational requirement in place at the time they were hired or transitioned into the core job title(s) of IT Analyst, Business Application Analyst, Ancillary Application Analyst, Clinical Application Analyst, Pharmacy Analyst I)
1.Licensure/Certifications: Primary system certification may be preferred but not required. Will be required to obtain primary system certification within 60 days of completing training in assigned application module(s) if applicable and must maintain primary system certification in assigned application.
2.Experience: 5 years of experience as an analyst designing, implementing, testing and supporting vendor packaged software applications required. Advanced knowledge and experience in leading system analysis and testing with special emphasis on system methodologies, projects management and business process reengineering related to information systems required. Experience in health care setting preferred.

JOB SUMMARY: Working under the direction of the Diagnostics Manager, the Senior Application Analyst functions as the primary contact to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users for the ancillary clinical systems belonging to Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Dentistry, Clinical Neurophysiology, Operating services etc. These applications include but not limited to Varian Aria, MIM, Tomotherapy, Brainlab, ViewRay, DailyQA, CT simulators, EndoVault, AxiUm, Polysmith, Neuro Workbench, and Audbase. The Senior Analyst will work with vendors as appropriate to ensure smooth operation of purchased products, reporting, and resolution of issues. The AA will analyze the department's functions, goals, workflow, and information needs. The Senior Analyst will act as the project manager to apply that analysis into the planning of projects, design, implementation, and maintenance of appropriate information systems. They will complete project tasks and assignments as directed which includes the build, maintenance, enhance of applications, and perform quality assurance system integration testing based on test plans. The Senior Analyst develops and documents internal procedures, assists in the development of user training aids and may train end users in workflow and use of the application. The Senior Analyst participates in an on-call rotation for system and application support which involves being available after hours for troubleshooting and issue escalation. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 1. Technical lead responsible to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users for the ancillary clinical systems belonging to Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Dentistry, Clinical Neurophysiology, Operating services etc. 2. Responsible for the support, maintenance, and configuration of clinical applications and/or systems. 3. Technical lead for performing daily application/system health checks, reviewing, testing, and implementing upgrades and/or patches for clinical applications and/or application modules to achieve the desired business needs. Responsible for ensuring appropriate integration with other enterprise applications. 4. Facilitate/Lead and/or participate in meetings with application vendors, key stake holders, and/or committees to review and approve changes to workflows. 5. Effectively communicates system upgrades and downtimes while escalating issues within the organization as needed. 6. Communicates effectively to provide optimal support of all departments' Information Services needs in a manner that promotes a professional climate throughout the Medical Center. 7. Ensure application configuration, setup and access complies with NHRMC policies, standards, HIPAA/HITECH, PCI/DSS and other related state and federal regulations. 8. Provides Tier 2, 3 and Tier 4 support by responding to Help Desk requests from end-users; defining priorities, answering questions and resolving problems. This support includes participating in the IS on-call rotation. 9. Participates on the Change Management Committee as needed. 10. Demonstrates standard of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support customer experience and principles of service excellence 11. Performs other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Knowledge: Knowledge of database administration, server management, storage and backup devices. Knowledge of HL7 and DICOM Standards. Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of application solutions in health care environment. Experience interfacing with multiple systems on a variety of platforms. Experience with Varian Aria, MIM, Tomotherapy, Brainlab, ViewRay, DailyQA, CT simulators, EndoVault, AxiUm, Neuro Workbench, Polysmith, and or Audbase applications is a plus. 2. Project Management: Proven skills in managing large, complex projects and able to manage multiple fast-paced technical projects.
