Salary: $175k-225k

Location: San Jose, CA

What You Will Be Doing

  • Use your Android knowledge to craft new, innovative features for our users.

  • Collaborate strongly with your team in design and code reviews.

  • Own the product and work alongside engineers, designers and product managers to deliver a cutting-edge application to our customers.

  • Develop and report on app performance metrics.

What You Need for this Position

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience developing Android apps

  • A deep familiarity with Android Studio, Java, Gradle and the Android SDK

  • You love to write code

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points:
You have experience in publishing applications created by yourself in Google Play as well as developing React Native apps.
You have a deep understanding of mobile performance, latency, and security issues.
You are a quick learner with passion for new technologies.
You have an active Github account.
You have some experience in a small, startup environment.

The Adobe Video team is looking for a talented, self-motivated Senior Quality Engineer with extensive expertise in testing Android applications. Your team develops new and existing mobile applications and technologies that are part of a broad Adobe Mobile offering that complements our Adobe Creative Suite® desktop applications and Creative community. Come help us build a next-generation app that allows people to explore their creativity from any device at any time. What you'll do: * Perform hands-on testing of daily builds across multiple Android devices. * Work closely with a distributed team of developers and quality engineers on the design and specification of features (leading and following depending on the circumstance). * Critically think about how consumers will interact with the software being tested and turn those thoughts into bugs, action items, and avenues of discussion. * Plan and execute test activities in areas of considerable complexity such as emerging technologies, applying a developed vision/understanding of the overall picture related to the product. * Create test cases (acceptance, performance, functional, etc..) that ensure proper functionality of all implemented features. * Accurately file and verify comprehensive bug reports. * Work in an agile development environment, coordinating with other internal and external teams to help ensure proper workflows throughout the entire app experience. * Provide independent leadership of large product areas, extending extensive product expertise across the department as well as to other product groups. * Provide accountability and ownership for all task assignments. * Contribute to product design and requirements discussions. Does this sound like you: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. * Minimum of 7+ years equivalent QE industry experience. * Experience testing application software on Android (iOS, Windows and Mac OSX are a plus). * Experience editing video with desktop and/or mobile tools (Premiere Pro is a plus). * Passion for testing software and a curiosity/excitement for technology. * Demonstrated knowledge of QE methodology, processes and tools. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written. * Good time management and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. * Ability to achieve results with little supervision or direction. * Flexibility to move between tasks and sometimes across teams. * Ability to deliver against deadlines.
